Direct TV (Directv) Commercial & Special Offer – new subscribers get $10 off per month with my info

Hi there folks, you may recall that my husband and I switched to Direct Tv last Fall or so. We signed up and we were too late with the $10 off offer, as we mentioned it to the installer, wrong way to do it… you need to give them the information when you set up the appointment for your instillation of Directv.

My Direct TV on my Rooftop. Boy has Satellite and Dish Changed over the years no reception problems with snow or rain!

We initially had problems as the Genie with 5 program recording capabilities was brand new at the time and we had to wait for the local Directv to have the DVR shipped to us, after a few tries they managed to get the cable internet hooked up properly. Now we’ve had great success as we have access to the online features as well as the Dish/Satellite features.

We have been so happy with our change away from Comcast for our TV watching, and the huge DVR storage as well as the ability to record up to 5 channels at once. Now I can get my programs that I love as well as the remote hog called The Husband, getting all of his Monster Movies (which I’ve seen some of these so many times that I don’t pay attention to them)… we are Science Fiction/Fantasy lovers however as well as Action Movies/shows. I personally love some girly shows, What Not to Wear, Bun Heads, Hot In Cleveland (with my “twin”, well former twin before I went red, Valerie Bertinelli) and Mad Men to name a few.

We enjoy recording our show ahead of time for watching and skipping the commercials, and with the DVR, it really helps us get a chance to communicate at home so if I have something to talk to my husband about he just pauses the show and actually gets to listen to me and restart the show after our discussion. I’ve even recommended to friends with communication problems and a husband that loves his shows to please get at least a DVR to pause his program and listen… he actually was very receptive to the idea and said he had been thinking of getting one but procrastinating… I wonder if they actually got one now to help this wonderful couple communicate more.

Speaking of skipping commercials, the other day we actually watched some live tv, so we saw this commercial that really made me laugh, so I had to hunt it down for you. What made me laugh so hard is we live out where we have Hawks and one was eyeballing and gliding around where my dog was one day… sick and scared but I got close to the dog and the Hawk seemed to decide it wasn’t worth it. Besides my MinPin isn’t that small. lol

There is a deal (as seen in my side bar) of $10 off for new Subscribers to Direct TV, just use our code/account# and the name (it’s under my husband’s name) when you call to change to Direct TV and we (you and I) will get $10 off our bill per month. Now this offer does have an expiration, it is May of this year… so you can use this thru the end of April. And you can share the same up to $100 off per month for 10 months with your friends too!

Here is what Directv has to say about this offer:

How the DIRECTV Referral Offer works

When a friend who is a current DIRECTV customer refers you to DIRECTV, you can get an EXTRA $10 bill credit every month for 10 months on top of the great savings you get with our current new customer offer. Your friend also gets $100 in bill credits for every friend he or she refers.

Requires ENTERTAINMENT Package or higher

So I guess you need the Entertainment Package or higher to get this offer. This wasn’t seen by me at first since it was in very fine print on their page.

Anyway here is the Info for anyone switching to Satellite/Dish thru Direct TV for their TV.

  • Name of Friend: (just in case they ask): Rick Lockwood
  • And Our Account #: 41137732 (hey since you have that account number want to pay some towards our bill, that’s okay too… just kidding, well actually….) *wink*

There you go, some video’s and info on Direct TV, our Account# for you to save $10…if you want to read more you can check out my husband’s post on his blog Called: Direct TV – Share The Love Promo

I Mariah, have purchased (with my husband) Direct TV for our own home, we are not affiliates of them, nor are we paid by them for this, we are although offering a savings for others and ourselves off the bills with direct tv. The videos in this post were located at random on YouTube. And the picture enclosed is the picture of the Direct TV Dish on my roof top, so it was provided by me.

Delivery dot com & Massinos Pizzeria – Review

I had the opportunity to review Delivery.com a while back and I was pleased to see that there was one restaurant in my area that participated.

Hungry Deliever is just one click away at delivery.com

When my coupon arrived I was excited to try this online service, many areas have more then one restaurant that participates, however I only had one in my area of Colorado and Joan, herself, in her area of Florida had none to choose from. The one place I was able to order from, through Delivery.com was Massinos Pizzeria on Lowell Blvd.

It was, once again another boiling hot day here, my husband and I decided to take advantage of the $40 voucher/coupon to order a meal in, along with dessert… a Cannoli, something I kept hearing about however to my recollection I had never tried one. My husband had eaten Cannolis before and he loved them. For the main course we wanted to order a Calzone, something that we both love on occasion.

To my dismay, at Delivery.com, every time that I clicked on the Calzones, the page locked up with a X in a circle showing up. Upon an hour of trying different browsers and trying to figure out what was up, I finally called Delivery.com customer service. After sometime on the phone the guy had tried every Calzone order (hey I only had 2 in mind and those were the 2 we wanted to try, not just ANY flavor) the customer service rep. got back on the phone and told me, yup it’s not working all I see is the X in a circle on the screen after hitting enter (or continue or whatever it is labelled).

To Joan’s point (Joan my Former Blogging Partner), as I was in chat with her concerning this whole deal, Massino’s does indeed accept orders via their website and phone calls, so this would have been a lot easier to order what I truly wanted by other avenues… however being broke we would use the coupon and do the review, no matter what it takes!

Well I guess Customer Support/service was not able to order my meal for me, but the rep said that he would be putting in a Ticket for Repair to their Tech Support Team. Then the Calzone’s would be fixed within a day (or 2? I asked), yes. Okay I guess I will order something else for my review for now, at least the prices at Massino’s Pizza are cheap enough that my $40 Coupon will work for 2 orders for two people.

So I ordered sandwiches for my husband and I, well the drama continued as our wait went on and on and on for delivery of 2 simple sandwiches. After over an hour of waiting I called Massino’s, they told me their oven had been broken and it currently being repaired (they needed to melt the cheese onto the Sub/Sandwiches, I guess.) I was told that it would be approximately 30 more minutes before they could make the sandwiches, and I was given no choice on the phone as to if I would accept the sandwiches cold instead of having the cheese melted. She stuck up for Massino’s saying that they called Delivery.com but got no where with them on trying to get a phone call to me to let me know that the order was seriously delayed.

She didn’t thank me, nope, she just said “your a nice person” and that was it. I shrugged as I hung up the phone and told my husband about the phone call and our growling belly’s… I guess Delivery.com doesn’t supply the restaurants with more then my name and address for their delivery order…. they couldn’t call me? Nope… wrong, as you will see later, I was misguided by the lady at Massino’s.

I made yet another phone call while I waited for the delivery, by the way and let them know that the Pizzeria tried to call them instead of me concerning this broken oven problem and Delivery.com stated that all my info, including my phone number is received by the Restaurant, as I asked about their procedures.I contemplated writing the person in charge of the Delivery.com Review, and started my letter to him, to let him know about the problems with the site and delivery. And the reply was that Delivery.com does indeed forward all my information to the restaurant. So in the end this problem with not contacting me about the problem with delivery was all Massinos Pizzeria’s Problem.

Finally an hour after the call that I made to Massinos, we received our order, it was now about 8pm- about 3 hours total to order and receive our order. Needless to say I was not pleased, nor was poor Joan who watched and waited, long after her East Coast Time Zone Bedtime.

When our order arrived, I again received no apologies for the lateness nor anything else but food for my Hubbies and my grumbling tummies. The Subs were cold, the bun on mine did seem to either be toasted on the outside or stale, and my husband’s was soggy on the bottom. The quality of the food is of no reflection on Delivery.com by the way, they are just the go between.

The Calonnis that we received from Massinos, well, less then impressive and my husband remarked they were the worst he’d ever eaten. The Subs were less then impressive too, the cheese we had waiting for so long for them to melt, well, you couldn’t even taste it, as a matter of fact the cheese was all over the tinfoil in a thin crisp coating, where I fear all the cheese went to. The rest of the Sub, it was cold, including the “sausage” that was in mine, looked like the kind you get on frozen pizza…like nuggets of sausage… cold and disappointing.

pretty wrapped Subs from Massinos Pizza

My husband and I waited until Friday to try and order again, still we continued in over 100 degree days here and a break from homemade anything, yes even sandwiches, although they wouldn’t heat up the kitchen, were too much effort in this stifling heat wave. I went with my heart set on ordering Calzone’s again, having more then enough time, I was so sure that the repair ticket was taken care of by Delivery.com’s Tech Department.

temp at Mariah's house on one of the days ordering from Massinos

Welp, NOPE! it wasn’t, this time I was on the phone without hesitation with Delivery.com Customer Service, letting them know that I am trying to order something from them from a menu area that is broken. And that I called on Monday with the same problem, and though a repair ticket was supposedly sent out it wasn’t repaired. Once again telling them which Restaurant it was, which location is was and this time waiting on hold for quite a while, they again confirmed it was broken… then on hold for quite a while a second time the Rep. I was talking with had talked to their manager and they fixed, tested and came back to the phone with me and apologized and let me know that they just fixed this problem for me.

Yay, finally some satisfaction… what a saga of events, but in the end, although they didn’t fix the problem the first time they were told about it, the second time they not only fixed the broken order area on the Massinos Menu, but they did it all while I waited. Thank you, my faith in Delivery.com is somewhat restored, although I would advise them that if they have problems with Restaurants blaming them for not getting in touch with the customers, they ought to reconsider offering their service to them. It makes everyone involved look bad when a saga, such as mine happens.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
