Gungho for Brain Focus/Health Supplement – Review Giveaway

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

Hi friends, I am in love with this Product I just sampled called GungHo, a real scientific breakthrough (in my humble opinion) of Brain Health, Focus, and recall. As I read up on GungHo, preparing for my samples to arrive, I was very impressed with all the studies and the work of the PHD’s on developing a safer, more effective and actually long term brain health of this product.

But we all know “the proof is in the pudding”

Hai. (that's Ninja for hello) on the cardboard cover from GungHo ("For Ninja Like Focus")

My 3 sample packets of GungHo arrived safe and sound to my home, it is packaged in the most brilliant folded cardboard, full of great information and some good laughs too. Speaking of laughs, who ever heard of a Focus Supplement that gave you energy and yet improved your mood? I hadn’t until I was introduced to GungHo and for me this statement by the company is true! Alas I am rambling again… lets get back on topic here. Lol

Yes, as many of you know from past reviews, I have ADD and sure enough I show it often in my struggle to write reviews and if my ADD is acting up terribly, my dyslexia comes out more as well, making writing a real chore. Add in my CFS (Chronic Fatique Syndrome), Fibromyalgia (which often creates something called “Fibro-Fog”) and you have yourself a but you folks are kind enough to bear with me. Now on with the show… lol

My Packets of Gungho

My GungHo Challenge:

1. Avoid energy drinks / shots or sodas for 3 days (so you don’t crash from them)
2. When you are tired, take a GungHoR instead – convenient tiny liquid packet can take with you anywhere
3. You will note a smooth boost of energy & focus with no jitters or crash

“* Over time, GungHoR will also build brain health, capacity to focus and memory recall…but you won’t notice that in 3 days”

The above is a qoute from GungHo on the Challenge I accepted

The Challenge, how I got started:

We ran out of soda in the house and coffee for a while (we shop once a month with our disability checks, so this happens from time to time) and it was the perfect time to take the challenge! So no caffeine, sodas or energy drinks… just water on hand for a week. I went 3 days with just water, then I did a 2 day test (I gave my husband one to try too)… okay so I cheated on my challenge, by sharing… however my Mommy taught me to share and it has stuck with me. lol

I did start getting a headache for the first day without soda or caffeine… but it soon went away with some generic Aleve that I had on hand.

My thoughts on Gungho:

I have run out of my GungHo and I am saddened by this, as it really did help me stay focused on the tasks at hand here, I can get so distracted by the Boob-Tube (which is almost always on here, since my husband has become disabled recently, so he’s home all the time)… and of course the demand of the blog, the keeping up with social media, emails and my 2 cuddly dogs demanding attention. The GungHo has helped me focus on one thing at a time and I just have to say, you need to try this to believe it!

On GungHo I am relaxed, yet more focused, I am energized but not shaky and I feel a sort of sense of wellness… a satisfied feeling that I cannot describe as anything else other than a cheerful disposition. Amazing the balance that has been achieved in this formulation and how completely they covered all the bases of this unique product, I’ve never experienced this before like I did with GungHo.

As I mentioned before, I shared one of the packets with my husband, he felt a little difference but being a man of few words he didn’t tell me much more than energized some and a feeling of the focus some as well.

Now the long term effects that are mentioned by GungHo, are brain health building… this is with longer term/daily use of GungHo and I would be tempted to keep a stash on hand for daily use, had I had the means to do so… with my very limited trial I am pleased!

Who would I recommend this product for?

Mothers, we know how draining just being a Mother can be!

Students, oh yes, as I always recommend with studying, take it as you study and then make sure to take it as you do your testing (the studies have all shown you must be in the same state as when you were studying for better recall when you are testing or public speaking for that matter).

Gamers, as some of you know, until I started blogging, I was an avid gamer since the 1990’s, and I really could have used this when my group would be in highly dangerous game areas and I was stuck spamming out heals constantly. Yes I always played the supporting role of a healer, it’s hard work, but really beneficial to most power gamers out there.

And those that have trying work/jobs, be it physical, mental or that have demonstrations or public speaking involved etc.

I would have loved this while working as a Cosmetologist and during memorizing lines and preforming in plays.

Now one of you can take the GungHo Challange for yourself, enter to win your own 3 pack sample of GungHo

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

A Day of Prayer for Me – Mother in Surgery

vintage girl and dog praying
I am saying my Prayers for my Mother.

This may turn some people off, but I really don’t care if it does… I am Catholic and I believe in the power of prayer. I am not going to tweet out giveaways or my reviews today, I am spending my time in prayer for my Mothers surgery today.

Mom, Dad and All Mom's Sweet Friends at American Legion, Sept 2012 Picture taken by Mariah
Mom is so loved, when we went to the Local American Legion, I had to take a picture of her, Dad and Mom’s Admirers.

I did however choose to write about this today, my Mother is quite frail right now at 71 lbs at last weighing in. She can hardly eat, she has chronic pain, chronic fatigue and an autoimmune disease, along with a hospital borne infection (she got infected a few years back in surgery in her back and the infection lingers on as it is resistant to antibiotics). The infection  had spread to her bones, as they discovered in her Month in the hospital, late last year into Mid January. The infection had not been responding to the antibiotics that could help control the infection (not cure it).

Now comes February and she is back in the hospital, the pain in her back was serious enough to bring her in. They found that some vertebrae above the ones worked on years ago, above the pins and fusions and by the infection, were gone and now they too need surgery.

A picture of my Mother, pre drastic weight loss and a few years back.
My Mother in better times, on prednisone in the picture, and a few years back.

As they decided whether or not to operate, they discovered that the infection was possibly encapsulated since the infection was not responding. So my Mother and Father were told of the concerns of doing surgery while she is so frail, but they decided to go through with it and hinted to Mom (she caught the hint) that she needs to be in good spirits and may have to fight to survive this.

They are operating today and I called my father (we are snowed in at home here) who, thank God has a friend who is in the waiting room with Dad keeping him company. I called at just the right time as they had just stopped in and said that she is doing well, the surgery is going well, however it will be quite some time yet before the surgery is through. They are attempting to scrape the infection away and out of her, I pray they do that exact with a steady hand as I pray it doesn’t spread the infection. Mom wasn’t sure what exactly they would do pins or fusion or cadaver vertebrae or what, so that frightened her somewhat, not knowing what is going to be done.

Mom's Superhero's Not All Wear Capes
This is my Mother, a true Superhero, without a cape. 6 wonderful kids (well with me, it’s debatable) and all brought up well with the Superhero, my Mother.

I am praying for exacting steady hands of the surgeons and wise choices for my Mother back. I am praying today for my Mother to continue being the inspiration that she is and continue to fight her way to good recovery and health.

Mother going back into the hospital – just received a phone call from Dad, letting me know

A picture of my Mother, pre drastic weight loss and a few years back.
My Mother in better times, on prednisone in the picture, and a few years back.

Hi friends, my beautiful sweet and courageous Mother has been very sick for quite some time. Like me she suffers from an Autoimmune Disease which has been complicated by surgeries on her back, one of which caused a Hospital Contracted Infection which cannot be cured and I suspect the site of the infection is flared again.

Dad said that Mom’s back is in serious pain again, as you may recall I wrote about her and Joan in a post on Joan and Mariah’s Reviews a while back and my Mother ended up in the hospital for about a Month as a result of her infection and other complications.

My Mother is down to 71 pounds at last weigh in, that we have talked about together as she is having serious problems eating too. I am very very worried about her and know that I will be spending some time on the phone trying to cheer her up and hopefully I can squeeze enough out the budget for me to travel to the hospital to go pay her a visit or two.

Please my friends, family and readers, send out positive thoughts to and prayers for this wonderful lady (a talented Artist, Mother of 6 and all around loving caring and brave woman). My Mother’s Name is Nancy… I appreciate your thoughts and prayers and I truly believe in the power that is held in the thoughts and prayers sent out.

Thank you, love and hugs,

Pain Relief From Tommie Copper, Does it really Help? Women’s Compression Tights Review & Giveaway

Tommie Copper Review & Giveaway

Edit 7/24/14:  Hi There, I have a review and Giveaway of a $50 Tommie Copper Gift Certificate… good through: Aug. 11, 2014! You can find this Review and Giveaway here: http://www.honestlymariah.com/his-hers-tommie-copper-review-giveaway/

Tommy Copper Logo

Hello all, I was recently asked, by the lovely people at Tommie Copper, if I would review their latest release of the Women’s Compression Tights and of course I was not only honored to have the invite, but I was also very excited! I have had lower back pain all my life. The lower back pain along with the Fibromyalgia and the nerve damage to my lower back and hip pain, from an accident I was in about 11 years ago, it’s been virtually impossible to sleep, unless I pass out from total exhaustion! Some of you may have seen the commercials for Tommie Copper with Montel Williams, he too suffers from pain and he recommends Tommie Copper. The commercials with Montel Williams were my first exposure to the product and had me very interested in trying them out for myself as I did about a year and a half ago. The latest big name associated with Tommie Copper is Justin Gatlin as this Gold Medalist was on the tv show “Extra” handing out Tommie Copper products to fans… you can see the clip if you go to YouTube and look up Tommie Copper. I tried to load the clip here but it would first load to the correct clip and then change to the Happy Holidays YouTube (that is below) from Tommie Copper. *shrug* You may recall that in June of last year, I was fortunate enough to be invited to review the Tommie Copper Women’s Short Sleeved Shirt, and I loved it, it helped with my pain from a bad shoulder, another accident, many years back, messed it up and of course again the fibromyalgia and Lupus Pain the shirt helped a lot and continues to do so today. The shirt kept me from the doctor’s office for a steroid shot in my shoulder for some time now.

women's compression wear shirtI’ve received letters about my past review with some questions:

The readers have asked me what I still think and feel about the product and about its longevity… the shirt is still working well, I even had to add a tan shirt to my Tommie Copper Collection in the past year. I noticed that the tan shirt is no longer being sold, I suspect that I know why… the only problem I noticed with the tan shirt is that a patina has developed on the underarms… not where you want a pretty copper patina. Lol This Patina is not problematic as I do not wear the shirt alone, I wear it under my clothing, even in the summer. Yes in the summer I continue to feel cool and dry, even with the Tommie Copper on… it does indeed wick away the dampness, even in a home without Air Conditioning or a Swamp Cooler and dealing with well over 100 degree Fahrenheit temperatures as we experienced this past summer with record-breaking temps.

Receiving and looking at the Tights:

Picture of Mariah's Tommie Copper Compression Tights (Black) I received the Ladies Compression Tights in the mail, the material looks the same as on the shirts, the stitching is perfect and it has the Tommie Copper Logo on the hip. The tights, in my humble opinion, are more like leggings as they continue down to the ankle and do not have feet on them.

Trying on the Tights:

I have to admit I was a little worried about the compression as just touching the hips, as of late, wearing jeans that fit brings on pain. I found that the sizing and compression was perfectly matched to my problems as it didn’t irritate the area. The only irritation I got was while I slide the waist band, and not stretching it over my hips, once the waist band was up where it is supposed to be, I am fine. I found it quite easy to get into, no struggling and straining my shoulders to get into them. I have nerve damage (sciatica) in my lower back and hip nerve pain from an accident, the Tommie Copper Compression Tights helped , nothing really takes the pain away completely (just as it is with anything for pain, like medications) but it helps me.

Wearing the Tights:

Tommie Copper Ladies Compression Tights The material is such that I can easily wear a pair of pants over them and no one is all the wiser, there is no bulk to them at all, it’s like a second skin. Looking in the mirror, I don’t see why I cannot wear this with a big shirt for working out or walking around the house and still being presentable to the public if a knock came at my door. I could even see wearing these with a short dress that is in my closet, that is a little too short to wear without something over my legs. While wearing the Tights I found that it took a few days wearing them to start seeing relief. I even sleep in these tights, and I must say that I tend to sweat at night, with my hubby and 2 little dogs in bed keeping me very warm, and I have noticed that I don’t feel the moisture as it wicks it off just like the shirts do. I have slept better at night when I wear these and I now live in these tights, taking them off just to wash and dry them. I hope to add another pair and maybe a pair of their shorts to my wardrobe soon. I have not found anything as supportive for my Fibromyalgia pain as Tommie Copper has been and it even took down my nerve pain some. I still cannot sleep on my sides for very long, as I prefer to sleep, but if I turn onto my sides at night I have a longer time before I wake up in pain going down my legs, hey every little bit helps when you are living with chronic pain.

Recommendations for Washing:

Avoid using dryer sheets or fabric softener with your Tommie Copper, this gets in the way of the copper and this is part of the key to the product working so wonderfully.

Would I recommend Tommie Copper Tights to people?

Yes I sure would, the product helps with pain, even eased up my nerve pain some. People that experience nerve pain know that this is a very difficult pain to get an ounce of help with. I found the products from Tommie Copper are great quality and the fact that they last such a long time is a big plus (again I have one of their shirts and it is still holding up well). Tommie Copper have taken the light tan-colored products off their site, a sign that they noticed a problem arising and listened to their customers…I have a feeling that it was the patina (the copper turned green is a patina) from the copper that showed in those light colored fabrics that caused them to get rid of that color in the fabric. Hey the patina on the older shirt of mine does prove that they have somehow managed to get the copper into their fabulous products! Lol If you experience pain, from straining, sprains, Fibromyalgia and/or are a “spoonie” like me, I highly recommend Tommie Copper, get one product to try it out and I bet you will be back to pick up more. Nothing has left me with the Compression I needed for my pain, the copper content and yet being able to move well at the same time as Tommie Copper has.
