Switching to Save with Directv – Save $100

Here is an offer for those Switching to Save with Directv, to save $100 on Directv (AKA: Direct TV) has been extended (this offer is only for new subscribers, as they sign up using account numbers of  us folks who are already subscribers to Directv). This offer has been extended!

We just noticed, on this months bill, that we have started saving $10 per month for 10 months, as of this month because someone online just switched to Directv with our coupon code (our account number), however it’s is even easier online to switch now using the persons personal link… ours will be included at the end of this post.

Everyone who is with Directv is allowed to have 1o friends saving $10/per month with them (that is up to $100 per month in savings). We have 9 friends remaining at this time that can use our account number (what I call our coupon code)… so we do have one friend who is saving $10 per month for 10 months along with us right now and now they too can start sharing their code for “friends.” 🙂 So the person who signed up using our code or personal link online can now find 10 friends and their savings will grow for 10 months!

This is what my husband says on his blog about the deal:

“Refer a friend to DTV and get 10 bucks off your bill”. Yup, that easy. If you want to try DTV and want to bag an extra 10 bucks off a month, here’s what you need. My name (Rick Lockwood), this number ( 41137732 ) and the number to call and order, which is 877-731-8456. By signing up as a referral from our account, you save 10 bucks a month… Hey, so do I lol… Lets share the savings!”

To take advantage of this offer, you need to give them the “friends” account number (ours is 41137732 )  or click on their personal link (there will be a link at the end of this post if you need one)  BEFORE you sign up to have your Direct TV Dish installed… this is the only way it works! A neighbor of ours had his installed and waited until then to try and use the code and that does not work. *sigh*

Comcast VS Directv:

The problems we had with Comcast

Before we switch to Directv, we were on Comcast and watched the bill go up and up (what I recall this was monthly). As we noticed that our so called High Definition/digital channels be reduced to only a few suddenly… the reduction of the HighDef on our channels happened several times close together and we finally just “had it” with our lack of good quality signals for our programs.

We started looking into the Comcast HighDef, we called Comcast and asked what was going on with our channels, needless to say we didn’t get an answer we were happy with. The explanation we received was that they were giving a few more channels in slightly better quality and needed to clear room on the signal for the non “highdef” channels that were going to be of better quality for our area then they were. Okay this was not good for us, we love our programs and prefer to get a good signal for the picture quality and sound on our system at home.

We had finally looked up information online and stumbled upon some information that explained the huge difference we saw when we watched a blu-ray & when we watch the  HighDef on Comcast, there was indeed a reason for it… we found out  so called HighDef channels are so heavily compressed that they were not actually coming through in the best quality. The difference between Comcast’s HD and Directv’s HD is that Comcast sends out the signal at 720-HD (DVD quality) and Directv sends it out at 1080-HD (Blu Ray quality). So we found out this is why were were noticing the difference with picture quality and sound with our surround sound system.

Our Decision to Switch to Directv

As a result of our searches online we found out that Directv was the way for us to go as their lineup of channels in the 1080 HD quality is significantly more than on Comcasts heavily compressed 720 HD quality. We also found that there were a lot more channels on Directv, some that I didn’t even know existed.

Things to Do & Consider Before Switching

refer a friend to direct tv and they save $100 with a Bill Credit and $100 of bill credits for your bill too

If you have a family member or friend that has Directv ask them for their account number with Directv so you can save $100 on the switch and they too can save. If you don’t know someone or they are afraid to share their account number, please feel free to use ours ( 41137732 ) for your phone call to Directv 877-731-8456 or very simply CLICK HERE, for you convenience this link includes all the information you need to received the discount and again you will save $10 per month for 10 months and so will we. If you do decide to go with Directv and use our info, feel free to leave me a comment so I can thank you! 🙂

For us, with our HD TV and Surround Sound System, we are very pleased with our Directv as the sound does come in with real surround sound and the picture is blu ray quality!

Disclaimer: The above is our personal experience and thoughts on Comcast vs Directv, I am not affiliated with Directv and I am sharing this 100% on my own without anything (but possibly a savings for my home on Directv) in exchange for this post. And as always this post is my honest opinion of the comparison of the two services.

Direct TV (Directv) Commercial & Special Offer – new subscribers get $10 off per month with my info

Hi there folks, you may recall that my husband and I switched to Direct Tv last Fall or so. We signed up and we were too late with the $10 off offer, as we mentioned it to the installer, wrong way to do it… you need to give them the information when you set up the appointment for your instillation of Directv.

My Direct TV on my Rooftop. Boy has Satellite and Dish Changed over the years no reception problems with snow or rain!

We initially had problems as the Genie with 5 program recording capabilities was brand new at the time and we had to wait for the local Directv to have the DVR shipped to us, after a few tries they managed to get the cable internet hooked up properly. Now we’ve had great success as we have access to the online features as well as the Dish/Satellite features.

We have been so happy with our change away from Comcast for our TV watching, and the huge DVR storage as well as the ability to record up to 5 channels at once. Now I can get my programs that I love as well as the remote hog called The Husband, getting all of his Monster Movies (which I’ve seen some of these so many times that I don’t pay attention to them)… we are Science Fiction/Fantasy lovers however as well as Action Movies/shows. I personally love some girly shows, What Not to Wear, Bun Heads, Hot In Cleveland (with my “twin”, well former twin before I went red, Valerie Bertinelli) and Mad Men to name a few.

We enjoy recording our show ahead of time for watching and skipping the commercials, and with the DVR, it really helps us get a chance to communicate at home so if I have something to talk to my husband about he just pauses the show and actually gets to listen to me and restart the show after our discussion. I’ve even recommended to friends with communication problems and a husband that loves his shows to please get at least a DVR to pause his program and listen… he actually was very receptive to the idea and said he had been thinking of getting one but procrastinating… I wonder if they actually got one now to help this wonderful couple communicate more.

Speaking of skipping commercials, the other day we actually watched some live tv, so we saw this commercial that really made me laugh, so I had to hunt it down for you. What made me laugh so hard is we live out where we have Hawks and one was eyeballing and gliding around where my dog was one day… sick and scared but I got close to the dog and the Hawk seemed to decide it wasn’t worth it. Besides my MinPin isn’t that small. lol

There is a deal (as seen in my side bar) of $10 off for new Subscribers to Direct TV, just use our code/account# and the name (it’s under my husband’s name) when you call to change to Direct TV and we (you and I) will get $10 off our bill per month. Now this offer does have an expiration, it is May of this year… so you can use this thru the end of April. And you can share the same up to $100 off per month for 10 months with your friends too!

Here is what Directv has to say about this offer:

How the DIRECTV Referral Offer works

When a friend who is a current DIRECTV customer refers you to DIRECTV, you can get an EXTRA $10 bill credit every month for 10 months on top of the great savings you get with our current new customer offer. Your friend also gets $100 in bill credits for every friend he or she refers.

Requires ENTERTAINMENT Package or higher

So I guess you need the Entertainment Package or higher to get this offer. This wasn’t seen by me at first since it was in very fine print on their page.

Anyway here is the Info for anyone switching to Satellite/Dish thru Direct TV for their TV.

  • Name of Friend: (just in case they ask): Rick Lockwood
  • And Our Account #: 41137732 (hey since you have that account number want to pay some towards our bill, that’s okay too… just kidding, well actually….) *wink*

There you go, some video’s and info on Direct TV, our Account# for you to save $10…if you want to read more you can check out my husband’s post on his blog Called: Direct TV – Share The Love Promo

I Mariah, have purchased (with my husband) Direct TV for our own home, we are not affiliates of them, nor are we paid by them for this, we are although offering a savings for others and ourselves off the bills with direct tv. The videos in this post were located at random on YouTube. And the picture enclosed is the picture of the Direct TV Dish on my roof top, so it was provided by me.
