Blinded By The Light! Micro LEDs String Lights – Review

Hi folks, simply unbelievable light is emitted by these teeny tiny Micro LEDs String Lights!  Take a look at these fantastically bright little lights that I received for this review. The 20 LEDs String lights are on a small plastic coated wire that is 7 foot long and spaced 4 inches apart. The color of my lights are green and it takes 3 AA batteries.

There is not much that I can say about these lights other then WOW! I see that these light would be perfect for crafting, the Micro LEDs String Lights are so tiny and thin that they are easily manipulated to a design you want.

This Picture was taken at dusk.

For the crafting idea I had for these lights, since the lights are green, I decided to tape it up with simple scotch tape in the shape of a shamrock on my back door window. I first took an old CD/DVD envelope (in this case plastic) and folded it over loosely around the battery pack and then used Packing Tape to Attach it to the Screen Door Frame. The battery pack is light enough that those paper like CD/DVD Envelopes should work too. I then just strung up the lights in a Shamrock like shape taping it up here and there with clear scotch tape. When I do this for St. Pat’s Day I will use some Poster Paint and paint the shamrock green and tape the lights up around it, so that the design is more obvious (poster paint washes off from windows/glass easily).

Sorry blurry, for nights now we’ve had thunderstorms so finally tonight I stood in the garage to get this night shot of the shamrock.

I am very impressed with these little lights and I am sure I will come up with more design ideas for them as time goes on.

This is an uncommonly short and sweet review, as these lights would outshine my words in every way! I never could imagine that a battery operated LED Light could be so very bright and last for over 48 hours on the batteries! Impressive aren’t they? 🙂

Thank you so much to RTGS Products for entrusting me with this review… these lights are so handy, just the thing I needed (a chance to do something Crafty again).

Got The Creative Bug – Classes and Workshops – Review

I have the Creative Bug lately and I had an invitation to try out a Month of Creativebug Classes and Workshops for a review. What wonderful timing as my stress has been maximized as of late, and any number of fun DIY Crafting Projects can distract me. Now I was a latecomer to the Month of classes, just reviewing about 4 or 5 class videos today and accomplishing one craft project today. But wow, what a well needed break for the creativity that seems to be lacking in my life lately. After all crafting is second nature to me since I was raised on all sorts of DIY Craft projects in my creative family, my parents are artists and they kept us 6 kids pretty busy with crafting and DIY projects.

The classes that I looked at were for a “found necklace,” basically an upcycling project with beads from jewelry, friends will know that I love to collect old jewelry and beads. Family knows that I have done this since I was a little girl, but I have to say that I learned a few new things such as what to do with the tail from the filament you tie to the clasps.

I also looked at a really cool project for Image Transfers too. I have my packing tape set aside here as I am going to immerse myself in one of the 3 methods of Image Transfers she shows us how to do in her video. I can’t wait to find the perfect colored magazine page to use for this one! Yay!

I glimpsed at the bracelet crocheted with beads, cool… however I don’t have the cord that it called for in materials and my embroidery floss is MIA at this time, hiding in the deepest darkest recesses of some poor neglected moving box at this time.

Finally for my first project I was extremely inspired to dig out my Shrinky Dink Printable “paper”, and play with it for the first time in about 5 years. Oh, I don’t think it counts that this past Winter I just used Shrinky Dinks for making luggage tags for my trip to Florida to see my friend Joan, I really didn’t play with it, it was just something I figured I needed spur of the moment, then night before leaving. lol

What Shrinky Dinks at my age? Yes I love that stuff! I knew exactly what I was aiming for, and I had just the perfect picture to make into an outline in the picture/photo editor program. It was about an hour and suddenly I remembered how to get a good outline out of my colored picture, I used to do this for the Tattooists in the Tattoo Shop my husband and his partner had owned for a few years. Nice to know I haven’t forgotten all those old skills and it came in handy again. lol

In the Shrinky Dink Jewelry Class, I did learn some unique hints and tips from the video and it helped out so much better than the instructions that came with the Shrinky Dinks. I won’t spoil it for you, you will need to join Creative Bug to learn for yourself.Honestly Mariah Shrinky Dink Jewelry

My problem with my printer/copier is that it only prints in black… So I had to spend many hours with my detailed design to have it ready for the oven. And when the design curled up and folded itself it seems that the lovely Victorian Lady in the middle turned into The Freak Show Bearded Lady as the pencil marks or the ink smeared just perfectly on her face, before the Shrinky Dink flattened out again. lol

But all in all, this does look quite pretty, don’t you think? Now I have to decide it the original idea of putting two holes in it for jump-rings is what I want or to attach it to a Barrette Blank (or make it into a brooch) … oh and then figure out who would love a bearded lady piece of jewelry. lol Oh and I added to my design an outline around it some gold leafing permanent ink from a pen to further enhance the design.
All A La Carte Classes $9.99
So much fun, a project that is normally thought of as only for children, was revisited by me once again. Five years ago, I did have fun making Christmas gifts for everyone, it was about time I revisited this old favorite for fun once more.

CreativeBug’s offering are such a wide variety, from beginning sewing to advanced knitting and kids crafts too! Creativebug has a class to inspire your creative side. And the classes can be purchases A La Carte or as part of a Subscription… Subscriptions would make great gifts, for the crafter in your life. Better yet, make homemade gifts from these classes and workshops, these gifts are the best gifts, as they come from your own hands and your own heart!

Thank you to CreativeBug for helping me find a way to relax and have so much fun I lose track of time! What a stress relief for me.

Now, who wants to buy a Victorian Freak Show Bearded Lady piece of jewelry? It’s ONE OF A KIND (that’s for sure!). I will finish it (or you can) and I will sign the back of it too. Do I hear $25.00? Hey, can you blame a girl for asking? lol

Inspiration Day for me…

I keep finding these wonderful money saving, crafty bloggers. Today, I said to heck with it and, I started following the inspirational blogs that I keep stumbling upon.

Todays, additions are from: http://sewing.craftgossip.com where I’ve just kept clicking through their lists of crafting posts and when I found one that looked like it suited my taste I “followed” them. So far I am on page 12… lol I am not sure I can take much more inspiration without acting upon it, so I may quit looking at there list and get to work here. 🙂

I promise myself just 1 more page again as I get back to following some blogs. 🙂

Side Note: Doesn’t it always seem, like a crafter is always saying one more time, one more row with knitting or crocheting etc, and before you know it 2 more hours have gone by?
