Pulling Into The Slow Lane – Blog News

I am pulling into the slow lane here as I deal with issues at home and stressors in my life. I need to deal with things here and so my posts will be slowing down. My mind is muddled and scattered right now and I realize I must deal with situations that have just popped up in my life. Sometimes life throws us all a curve ball, but we all have stuff to deal with in real life. Wisdom comes when we realize it’s time to slow down and time to deal with the problems that come up, right?

I know that this is a strange post, but I want to share with you the reason for my lack of posts going on this week and my slowing down as time goes on here. My stress level is at max, I am dealing with neck-ache headaches all the time and it hasn’t help that I have started stressing more and more lately. I find that I hold my in my neck and shoulders as we deal with multiple situations here at home. Pain already makes it difficult to function, and with spinal stenosis in the neck and other vertebrae and it makes it hard at times to type, much less think, it is worse right now.

I am a wreck at the moment folks, my stress level and emotions running amok.

I am making an effort to write this out so I can share with you some events in life, it’s both therapeutic for me to share and it may help others know that they are not alone.

Animated_NewsboyLet my start off with what all is happening at home here:

  • As you all may or may not know my Mother lost use of her legs from back surgery a year and a half ago, Dad and Mom have agreed to get home hospice care for Mom now.
  • My husband had 4 stints put in his heart one year ago and he’s due for his yearly stress test.
  • We are still dealing with Contractors and Insurance for the hail damage on our home and our detached garage, over 2 months since our claim.
  • Insurance wouldn’t cover the damage to the siding on the garage, but they did allow for our repainting. So hubby and I, disabled, are dealing with replacing the siding, caulking and painting little by little as we are in such pain it is taking us a long time. And we still have to address the black mold in the garage additions.
  • Financial situations with being disabled and dealing with medications and doctors expenses.

We still haven’t had the roof repaired as there are concerns with getting it up to code, it seems that the extensions on the detached garage have problems with the way that they were built, years before we bought the house. One side roof has not been slanted correctly and needs special treatment to repair for it to get it up to code. The other side has an extension on it as well and the roof needs some sort of thing called an ice shield over top of that too. I don’t understand all of this construction stuff, but we are dealing with Insurance, Roofing Contractors and local Code Inspectors to get this 2 month plus situation resolved. Once the roof is replaced hubby and I can take care of the black mold inside the extensions.

Close up of Mariah hubby after heart surgeryI’ve been stressing over hubby’s heart since lately he’s been feeling flutters in it and just as I am writing this the Cardiologists office just called and said that he is not approved for the stress test, by the insurance company. *sigh* Here I was stressing about Friday, worried for the worst possible scenario, and we now have it all postponed when we’ve been waiting for this and knowing something is wrong. Now a longer wait to see the Cardiologist is in order and the stress test, which caused a heart attack last year will be later, once our insurance approves it. *sigh*

We have financial concerns here, this is the reason for my having affiliate banners on my blog, in hopes that folks may be interested in ordering from these companies and I may earn some money on the blog to help us with our financial worries here. Some months it costs us $300 to $400 extra dollars for doctors visits and already our medications are putting our credit cards to their limits. Now with our Insurance claim, extra specialists for both hubby and I we are over extending ourselves. As it is one of the medications that helped hubby and I for our chronic pain issues, we cannot afford so we go without. However there are medications that are necessary for my husband’s heart and the stints put in last year.

My Mother at home in bed with teddy bear
My Mother (Nancy) at home while I was there helping out. She held the Teddy Bear and I HAD to grab my camera.

My husband and I being disabled do what we can to help me get up to my parents home in the foothills here in Colorado. Gas prices are bad enough, but since I wear out from a long car ride and I can seldom drive more than 20 minutes without severe pain flare, it takes time and energy for me to get up there. I spend about 10 days up there when I go, and I try to do what I can to help out. My parents finally gave in a year and a half after doctors recommended Hospice Care for Mom at home, and this has caused major misunderstandings and great emotions from one of my siblings. It all comes out of love but that sibling is blinded by his misunderstanding the meaning of hospice care, he believes it’s substandard care and end of life care.

my hands forming a heart, with the words "Asking for Blessings and thoughts of strength, the warmth of love and of wellbeing for my Father and Mother

I know that most of you don’t know how hyper sensitive I am, but I’m dealing with being scolded, knocked down verbally on the phone and treated like I don’t care about my Mother… all because I tried to calm a sibling down from being upset about Home Hospice Care for Mom, really upset me. This option of Home Hospice Care does not mean we  expect Mom to die anytime soon, nor does it mean substandard medical care. Understandably all this does indeed come out of love and concern for Mom. But I wish that it was understood that I didn’t feel that this was news that should have anyone mad at me for not sharing, when my parents shared it with me… I was relieved, knowing some about this care, that my parents finally got this help at home with Mom. Knowing that I am thought of as not caring and that I don’t feel that an emergency is going on really hurts me and of course has added to my stress level.

Anyhow folks, like I said my brain is overwhelmed, muddled and scattered right now, I hope that this post (although venting some) makes sense to you all. I am an emotional wreck at this moment in time and I need to slow down and cope with home life and real life situations right now.

Thank you said in many languagesThank you so much for all of your wonderful readers, for being here for me at times like this! I don’t know if you all realize how very much this means to me that you are so understanding and I appreciate all your wonderful thoughts and prayers heading to me, my husband, my family and my parents.

Love and hugs,

Replaced Aleve with Natural Turmeric Supplement – Review

Hi friends, I just replaced Aleve with Natural Turmeric Supplement from Nutraviva. I hadn’t heard of the benefits of Turmeric before, but looking it up online it sounded like some sort of snake oil… but you know me, I had to try it. Anything that can help with a lot of my problems with chronic pain and is all natural… well, who could blame me? 🙂

I loved the sounds of the Premium Natural Turmeric Supplement by Nutraviva… so there we go, I ordered it on Amazon!

This supplement has been used for centuries for many problems that we experience, especially as we age or have a autoimmune disease (like I do). The uses, reportedly are for an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory. Sounds great for Arthritis!

Why Else Would I Take Turmeric Curcumin?

Turmeric from Nutraviva is a C3 Complex with Bioperine (which, with my studies on Bioperine, it looks as though it’s added to this product to maximize absorption of the Turmeric. And here is what else the company says about their product:

  • Rest Assured We use Zero Fillers/Binders/Preservatives/Artificial Ingredients to Provide Our Customers the Cleanest Turmeric Supplment We Can.

1 UPC Code label Covering Instructions for use of Nutraviva TurmericI received my bottle in no time at all from my Amazon order, I started taking the Nutraviva as recommended (1 capsule 3 times per day). One problem I had? The label had another label stuck on top of the directions, so after I tried peeling the label off, to no avail, I went online to Amazon and looked at the page that I ordered the supplement from, to discover the dosage. Now I admit that, at first I was taking one capsule a day, until I checked out the Amazon site where I ordered my supplement. I have now written over the label the correct amount for my husband and I to take. I switched to the correct amount I, on occasion, forgot to take it 3 times a day (I only eat 1 to 2 meals a day). I solved the forgetfulness, on my part, by placing the tablets in my daily medicine holder, in 3 of the 4 daily pill compartments.

Nutraviva Turmeric Bottle and Capsule
These Capsules are small enough to swallow easily… I love that!

I have been taking the proper amount of the Turmeric Curcumin Supplement for about 2 weeks now. Usually I have a problem with some supplements and, for me, I haven’t gotten the usual burps and I haven’t had any churning in my tummy either.

I did realize that thanks to the supplement, I was able to drop taking my Aleve (naproxen), yes I have indeed replaced my Aleve now! What was the problem with Aleve? Well my pain doctor has me on the medicinal dose of Aleve (naproxen). For the Naproxen I had been taking 2 tablets 2 times a day, and when things are very bad, taking in 3 times a day for a week, then dropping down to 2 by 2. <— please friends, unless you are under a doctors care and observation don’t do this with your Aleve, as it can seriously mess with you and your tummy! Trust me the on the highest dose my pain doctor had me on I did get a lot of side effects, a churning tummy, bloating, burping, indigestion, constipation etc.

As you can guess, I am so relieved that I don’t have to deal with the Aleve and deal with the side effects of it any longer! I am absolutely hooked on the Nutraviva Turmeric Supplement, and not in a bad way! Lol I am hooked because it has helped my Arthritis and that this is a Natural product (which always makes me smile). This doesn’t totally help my chronic pain from Fibromyalgia, pinched nerves, arthritis and Lupus SLE, nor does it help 100% with my husband’s pain from his Fibromyalgia, injured back, arthritis and nerve pain… but every little bit helps! If you are like my husband and me, you understand that even a slight improvement (without noticeable side effects) makes a difference in your daily life and comfort level.

Thank you so much to Nutraviva for the wonderful product, I have now replaced Aleve with your wonderful supplement! You helped me get off from something with terrible side effects and into Premium Natural Turmeric Supplement. which is a help for me and now my husband too! 🙂

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Mariah Signing off for the Weekend

Hi everyone, yup Mariah is signing off for the weekend (speaking of myself in the third person).

I have been squeezing in posts in between preparing for a garage sale, working on the gardens (planting seeds, and rose bushes) and dealing with visits from neighbors, Insurance Adjusters & contractors (we had recent hail damage to our garage mainly, our roof, the garage roof & garage siding).

tiime to kick up your heels it's the weekendI have thrown myself into a major Flare with my Lupus SLE and Fibromyalgia. You would think that after all these years, of fighting chronic pain and the nerve pain from my spinal stenosis etc, that I would have learned not to push myself. But sometimes things just have to be done and there is no one else to do it but you.

I have decided that I must take the weekend off and try and recuperate before another busy week starts up. I have a ton more products to review for you here and I will do offline work on them late at night, when I feel up to it and save it to my Open Office documents.

Why am I telling you all of this?

  1. I want to be sure that you know there are some giveaways that you need to enter here.
  2. I need to dedicate myself to my health and, if you know me, you know that I will end up working anyway.
  3. I will miss you all and I want to send you some love and hugs.

Have a wonderful weekend folks, be sure to check and make sure you entered the giveaways going on and feel free to leave comments on any of my posts. 🙂 Here’s wishing you all a weekend full of Health, Happiness, feeling loved and appreciated!

Feel free to leave you comments on this picture, and let me know what your choice is. Hey I need to do something fun and different here, besides it will let me know that my posts are being read. 😛

Increase Mental Focus Supplement – Review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

I’ve been fortunate to have received a product to review from BioTerra Herbs , this supplement helps you to increase your mental focus. I love this companies sense of humor in their labels and names for their products. This product to help with your Mental Focus is called “huh?”. lol

On on side of the label, it reads:

Mental Focus

Sometimes it’s just really hard to focus. Your head is in the clouds, you can’t stay on track and the amount of work that actually is getting done… will probably have to be done re-done. Whatever the epic task – from punching keys on a computer to cramming mid-term studies (really? in one hour?) to training for a three-legged hula-hoop triathlon opposite grandma – it’s time to buckle down and zone in on the assignment at hand. Grab your hula-hoop and put your game face on- Grandma is going down!

LOL! I just love a company that is not only herbal, all natural etc… but has a sense of humor!

Huh? herbal supplement with 2 capsules and a glass of waterWe are all bombarded for almost every waking hour of the day with the constant incoming stimulation from constant distractions in our world today. The distractions from modern contact with the outside world, mobile phones, television, computers and tablets are everywhere and constantly vying for our attention. Not to mention how busy divided we are with work (especially work at home), children, spouses (or significant others), friends and family all needing out attention too.

This is where my desire for increased focus comes in…

I live in a small house, my husband and I are disabled and so we are home all the time. I have 2 little lap dogs, the weather outside is becoming nice and Spring like… and technology drives me to distraction.

Health issues that cause chronic pain and ADD, also contributes to my problems focusing.

Can you identify with any of these?

Basically, we live in a world full of distractions which inhibit your ability to focus.

I received the product from BioTerra shipment in a very timely fashion. I feel very safe taking “Huh?” as it’s an herbal supplement.

The herbs, in this natural supplement, are:

Active ingredients:

jujube seeds (not jujube candies, but seeds of the fruit that they were possibly named after), Poria, Asian Ginseng Root, Desert Boomrape stem, schisandra fruit, polyagalla root, grass-leaf Sweetflag rhizome.

Other ingredients:

Vegetarian Capsules & rice flour

You can look up all of these ingredients with a search online to see any safety information, and/or the properties of these natural supplements.

Now you shouldn’t take some of these ingredients if you are pregnant or nursing. If you are on Medications, please see your doctor and show him the ingredients to see if you can take it. Basically, as always, I advise you that it’s always better to be safe than sorry! For me, there were no problems with my taking this with my medications, I just had to be sure to take it after a meal.

My experience with “Huh?” (lol, I love the name) one day, while my ADD was acting up, and I opened up the box. The shipping box was cushioned nicely inside, securing the product inside for safe shipping. The bottle cap was safety sealed with plastic around it, and then the top of the bottle (under the cap) was also sealed over the opening. I removed the seal and found a the cotton in the top of the supplement capsules, keeping them nice and safe from any jarring in shipment.

I read the label and took 2 capsules, since I had eaten not to long before. I was prepared for anything… I really didn’t feel anything but a soft sort of energy, my mind was wondering less and I was more focused indeed. It wasn’t anything too powerful, but what would be powerful would have to be a miracle pill or would perhaps over energize my body and not my brain focus. I also noted that with repeated use, at 2 capsules per day, that the product seemed to build in effectiveness… NICE!

I admit there was a bit of time there that I had not taken these, though I could have used them a few times during my recent visit to my parents home in the mountains. I neglected to bring the bottle with me, but I had the box (yes I save and use the box for in my reviews, for information contained on them). I did intend to write up this review sooner, however I chose to just visit with my parents and I only wrote up one review in my time up there.

huh supplement mental focus capsulesMy thoughts on the product:

  • The focus is very nice.
  • The supplement it’s gentle on me…enough so that I don’t notice being jittery nor do I notice being too relaxed to concentrate.
  • I notice the difference when I don’t take the “Huh?” Supplement.
  • With the product, I do seem to focusing better, especially with the distractions Spring time finally starting up.
  • I’ve learned to love this product and I feel that I can honestly recommend it to others because of my experience with it.

Thank you so much BioTerra for entrusting me with this review and choosing me to receive the product to try through Tomoson. I love the experience I’ve had with this supplement.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

The Absentee Blogger

I’ve missed you all and I apologize for my being the absentee blogger. I’ve taken many lumps in bumps in real life and as a result I took unplanned time out.

Please tell me you missed me, and tell me you forgive my absence.
Please tell me you missed me, and tell me you forgive my absence.

I really don’t want to bore you all with all the health details and what lumps and bumps I’ve been experiencing… so I will make this Return of the Absentee Blogger brief, stating that I have chronic pain, lumps in a breast (one is over an inch and a half), Fibromyalgia, Lupus SLE, bulging discs, pinched nerves in neck and lower back (spinal stenosis). I am trying to deal here friends, I have gotten x-rays, an mri, ultra sounds, and more, finally resulting in my getting a Pain Doctor and soon a Neurologist to address the issues with my arms, hands and legs… and dizziness. I am also very uncomfortable with “the change”(perimenopause) with a ton of hot flashes and yet not wanting to take the hormones due to history of breast cancer in my family.

If you wish to learn about the illnesses of this absentee blogger or anything to do with health I do recommend that you check out WebMD

Please be patient with me while I attempt to start blogging once more. I plan to start back up as soon as I start getting in more products for review and some of giveaways.

In the mean time I shall be posting a freebie for you in my next post.
