Ageless Derma Anti-Aging Skin Cream – Review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

Introducing Ageless Derma Anti-Wrinkle Cream, the cream that has Celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow, Julianne Moore and Helen Mirren in common… yes they all use it (according to Vogue Magazine).

I have been so excited to have been chosen to run this review for you, the package with the Ageless Derma arrived to my house safe and sound. Unfortunately I was away helping out my parents up in the mountains at the time, although my husband did call me and let me know I had a package arrive. Next of course, I was dealing with heel pain that I couldn’t take any longer and the package sat and sat, finally back at the blog here and although I am late with the review… I am still excited about the product.

Here is a quote from Ageless Derma:

Ageless Derma Stem Cell and Peptide Anti Wrinkle Cream incorporates an apple stem cell extract called PhytoCellTec that has demonstrated 100% effectiveness in measurably reducing facial wrinkles.

Even celebrities, who have access to any skincare product they wish, depend upon PhytoCellTec to maintain their luminous complexions…

With confidence, we invite you to dare to dream of smoother, silkier, firmer, brighter skin. Ageless Derma Anti-Wrinkle Cream will revitalize your skin’s health and recapture your youthful radiance.

Unfortunately, once I tried to use the Ageless Derma I found that my bottle wouldn’t pump up this precious product for me into the hole in the lid. I kept pumping and pumping… granted I don’t know how these things suck up the last dregs into the tops. But as I opened up the jar to look in, to my surprise it had hardly any of the product in it.

Mariah's Ageless Derma JarNow I continue with my arthritic hands (lots of bad weather here in Colorado) and still nothing comes up. Okay I’ve had enough, I wrote the sponsor of this review and gave them both an apology (for the lateness of the review) and explained about the goings on with family and personal health issues and of course my internet and blog problems (does anyone believe that all this stuff can go on at once? I don’t know, I sure wouldn’t lol, but it’s the truth) and this was on the 6th and still I have heard nothing. Well, I guess it’s time for the review anyway as it’s late. Sigh

Mariah's Freshly Opened (unused) Ageless Derma jar inside there is hardly any productI have used the cream while opening up the jar and picking up a little from the jar’s top, using a q-tip (you don’t EVER want to use your fingers inside product containers, no matter if you just washed your hands). The first thought was there is hardly any product in the jar, secondly the product seems highly scented, looking at the ingredients, I notice that it contains lavender oil, orange peel oil and jojoba oils… these are the ingredients that jumped out at me that could be the cause of the scent.

Now after some use, I did see a better improvement in my skin that other creams have given me! I can see why this is the choice of creams by some major stars! I love the scent and grew used to it, no allergic reactions on this Lupus sensitive skin.

Ageless Derma Pump Top lidGoodness, while examining the bottle and putting my finger by the hole in the lid, I noticed that it was plugged… why oh why couldn’t they tell me this? Nor could they include a little mention of this on the box? Lol I felt foolish as a result and removed the little rubber plug (could they have used a colored rubber plug to make it obvious that it was there?) well some 50 to 100 pumps later, I stopped with my hands hurting, and still no product coming up. Ah well, I found myself still a little embarrassed, but not as much.

The product just doesn’t want to come up, I don’t know if I have a defective jar top (pump) or I ruined it while trying and trying to get the product out the way it was supposed to or what? But I do have to say that for someone that is showing her age through eyesight (I need to wear reading glasses at times) and though my hand problems are linked to my Lupus SLE and/or Mixed Connective Tissue Disease… these are my complaints about the product, it’s not age friendly. BUT the product does it’s job and once you get used to the strong smell you are well on your way to hiding, plumping up those lines, wrinkles, and firming up the skin. The other thought? If the pump worked on this beautiful little jar, how long does the product last? Well for me it won’t last as long as for those that get this product with a working pump top on it as the Q-tip will soak up some of the product.

All in all a product that does what it claims, but has a few flaws in the packaging… it’s up to you to decide if you wish to try this for yourself. Be careful if you have allergic skin types, but you can always try to write them with your complaints if the product fails to meet your expectations or if the pump lid doesn’t work for you too… maybe you will get a refund or a replacement from Ageless Derma… Hey it could happen. 🙂

Radical Skincare Age Defying Exfoliating Pads – Does it work?- Review

Hi all, I was given the great pleasure of being asked to review Radical Skincare Age Defying Exfoliating Pads ! Today I want to share with you my knowledge of the ingredients & experience with the product.

Radical Skincare package, jar and booklet

Is your Skincare Radical Enough?

The first thing I wish to share with you in this review are some information about the ingredients, how and why they work in this product.

The first ingredient is water and the second is Aloe (barbadensis leaf) juice

  • Very good for binding moisture to the skin, as it is a second ingredient to water the Aloe binds moisture to the skin.  Also known to be a good anti-irritant.

Other important ingredient properties:

AHAs (Alpha Hydroxy Acids)

  • Glycolic Acid – a great leave on Exfoliant (it also exfoliates Sun Damage from the skin)

BHAs (Beta Hydroxy Acids)

  • Salicylic Acid – improved skin thicken, barrier functions and Collagen production, can exfoliate the surface of the skin.  Has Antimicrobial properties so it’s great for treating breakouts, as it penetrates the surface of the skin, into your pores and can reduce blemishes (blackheads and whiteheads). To top this all off it’s another Anti-irritant and is an anti-inflammatory.

Some more ingredients that I find mentionable:

Willow Bark: anti-irritant & antioxidant

Glycerin: softens skin

And the ingredients have mentions of many extracts from flowers, leaves, and more.

Here is a video that explains their Product:

radical skincare review package open jarWhen I opened my package that contained the Radical Skincare Pads, I was happy to see the little booklet that was contained, wow, this product must have every language known to man in the little booklet. I also love their saying in the packet,

“More Honestly, More Potency, More Performance. Strong Skincare with strong values, empowering you and your skin. Radical results and nothing less.”

I also like the fact that they have their own proprietary technology called “Trylacel Technology”… this is the combination of all the ingredients in their product. Still pretty impressive, with the mixture, that I know to be exfoliating, yet soothing and anti-aging, as well as taking care of all skin types and removing the dead skin cells and reducing the appearance of pore size and protecting the acid mantle of the skin (this is the coating over the skin that protects it from bacteria, infections as it’s a slightly acidic barrier to the skin) which is a huge plus!

Upon opening up the Jar, I found the smell quite wonderful, it smells fruity… this trial of their product maybe quite enjoyable! I picked up one pad and applied it to my face, neck and decollete and found it wasn’t irritating in the least, at least not initially… “time will tell” I told myself. Touching my skin after application, I found my skin feeling baby soft and smooth… “to good to be true?” I asked myself.

Well time did tell, all the doubts of effectiveness with such a soothing, softening and non irritating product was indeed wonderful to my skin! I saw (and still see) results that seem to build upon itself with repeated use. I used the pads only at night, and this gives me a 2 month supply of the product, yet I believe that I could possibly be used safely twice daily… this 60 pad supply is a big plus, when most only have a 30 day supply. And before I forget, others have cheap thin pads included with their product, and this has not only ample amount of the product on the pads and the pads hold the product well… but the pads are plush and feel so soft. Perfection!

radical skincare review exfoliating padThe best thing about this product is that it works for all skin types, for my combination normal to dry skin, it makes my skin feel so baby soft, it doesn’t sting on me, like other products do. And because I am hitting a certain age, where my hormones are gone amok (Peri-menopausal, or as I call it Pre-Menopausal) my skin tends to break out like I were a teen or in my twenties again and this product took care of the breakouts! Yay! I never understood adult acne, other then the occasional breakouts when it came to that monthly stuff, but suddenly I understood it and until the Radical Skincare Age Defying Exfoliating Pads I was really frustrated and I admit embarrassed. As an adult I always took good care of my skin and as a Cosmetologist I thought I “always knew” the solutions for my skin… well it was so hard to take care of the breakouts and to take care of the aging skin. Now I can do both with these pads, and I cannot wait to try out other products from Radical Skincare, they are so gentle yet affective for all my skincare needs.

After researching their ingredients with my so called “beauty bible” full of information about ingredients in products and what they can and cannot do, I realize that I can recommend this product for both young and old alike. NICE! I am highly satisfied with the product and I believe you will be too!

Thank you to Radical Skincare and Fuel My Blog for being patient with me while I struggled with personal and family health issues as well as internet problems… I thank you so much to for providing me with this wonderful product to review, it has been a pleasure finding this product just pure perfection, I am impressed and sold on Radical Skincare for my skincare needs!

Organic Matcha Green Tea Powder – Review & Cupcake Recipe

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

I was asked to review Organic Matcha Green Tea Powder made by Kiss Me Organics, and I couldn’t have been more excited. I love trying out my ol’ taste buds on something new and different for me, not to mention that I love to create my own recipes as well.

KissMe Organics Front View of Organic Matcha Green Tea packageI had some unusual products made with Green Tea in the past year, one of which was Green Tea Ice Cream, something that I was curious about but wouldn’t have bought ot for myself for the fear that I wouldn’t like it (we are all watching out pennies now a days, aren’t we?) When this review was offered up I couldn’t help but sign up for this review to see what I could make with it and see if I would like it.

I wanted to learn more about this green tea powder, it’s uses and benefits. I already knew one thing about green tea, it is a very good antioxidant. Being an antioxidant, I had heard that green tea, itself, helps to prevent cancer. Since my husband had Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma & bladder cancer… we’ve had more green tea around the house, hoping that my husband and I could benefit from drinking it.

Reading the label on the Organic Matcha, I learned a lot about this product, the benefits, some of the uses and more.

Some benefits listed on the label:

Anti Aging – All Day Energy (Energy Booster) – Metabolism Boost (Calorie Burner) – Increase Focus – Improve Skin Health – 137X Antioxidants of Brewed Green Tea

At first I just thought the matcha was going to be a form of an instant tea. When I saw the pretty green cupcake on the label, and the mention of baking, my brain started running wild with what Flavors would taste good with the Green Tea. Being cautious with the taste-buds in my household, I thought that a sweet cupcake was the best idea indeed… so at first I thought I would find a combination of Honey and Lemon.

A neighbor had recently introduced me to “Cake Mix Cookies” and told me how simple they were to make. So I decided to play around with a Cake Mix (I chose yellow) for an easy cupcake recipe. I was surprised that my first attempt at this was highly successful! My husband and I both loved my creation (recipe coming up).  I even decided to share 5 of my cupcakes with the neighbors, they all seemed to really like it. One even commented that they would give it an 8 out of 10 but, if I brought more over I would get a 10! lol

The frosting I made for this Green Tea Cupcake was also a hit and we found it added some more fruity sweetness to the cupcakes (this recipe is coming up too!) This just goes to show you how very excited I am to use a product when I create my own recipe just for the review.

I take the risk of posting my creation for all of you my beauties, as well as for  the company that supplied the product (If post my recipe, all I ask for is a link back to my blog in exchange for sharing my recipe). I really can’t wait for some of you to try to make this and let me know what you think of my invention… at the same time I have nervous excitement, after all, it’s my baby and I am setting out into the big wide world to be used and judged by others.

Again the idea for this Cupcake came from a friend telling me about her Cake Mix Cookies & hearing how they just add things to the cake mix cookies to make new and different flavors.

Preheat Oven to: whatever your cake mix recommends for cupcakes & your pan color. (I usually turn down the oven by 25 degrees when it’s a dark pan.)

Mariah’s Lemony, Green Tea Cupcakes:

  • 1 Cake Mix – white or yellow (I used yellow Generic Cake Mix)
  • 1 Large Lemon or 2 Small Lemons – you will be using the Lemon zest & the juice. (I used 2 small lemons, as the only cost me about 54 Cents each and a large Lemon was almost 2 dollars)
  • 1 to 2 Tablespoons of Organic Matcha Green Tea Powder (I used 2 Tablespoons, but next time I may cut it down to 1, some people weren’t to sure about the green tea aftertaste… personally I liked it).
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon Extract (Optional) I had decided, by smell, that I wanted to add even more lemony kick to the cupcakes
  • & Misc. ingredients called for on cake mix – (I used 3 eggs and the 1/3 Cup of Canola Oil).

1) Lightly Zest your Lemon(s) into a small bowl – (making sure not to get the white part in the zest.)  I set the bowl with the Zest & the Zest tool aside .

2) Squeeze out the Juice of your Lemon(s) into your liquid measuring cup. Add enough water to liquid measuring cup to equal the water amount called for in the Cake Mix instructions.

3) In the small bowl of lemon zest, pour your Lemon-Water Mix over the zester into the bowl (so as not to waste any of the flavor filled zest).

4) With Mixer on very low speed, slowly add your ingredients to the cake mix, scrape the sides of the bowl and once mixed well turn up the blender to the mixers cake setting (on my mixer, that is about Medium speed).

5) Place in Oven, the Cupcakes will be done when a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean

Once the Cupcakes are cooled you can frost them.

Mariahs Easter Inspired Cupcakes looking downMariah’s Blackberry Buttercream Frosting

For this frosting I was inspired by Wilton’s French Buttercream Frosting Recipe

3/4 cup of Frozen or fresh Blackberries (blend this up well in your blender, if you wish you may strain the seeds out in a fine mesh strainer) <— I have an excellent blender and so I didn’t need to strain the seeds out, you could hardly detect them.

  • 2/3 Cup sugar
  • 1/4 Cup flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 Cup Frozen Blackberries Blended (Optional: you can put through a fine mesh Sieve to get rid of the seeds, I didn’t)
  • 1 Cup butter , softened
  • 1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract

Place sugar, flour and salt in saucepan and mix thoroughly, stir in Blended Blackberries. Cook over medium heat and stir constantly until very thick. Remove from heat and pour into a medium mixing bowl.

Cool to room temperature. Add 1/2 cup butter at a time (cut into several pieces) and beat at medium-high speed until smooth.

Add vanilla and beat well.

Chill icing for a few minutes before decorating.

HINT: For Easter Cupcakes, like I made, add some jellybeans! Nummy!

Iced cupcakes must be refrigerated until serving time.

Add Vitamin C Serum to your Anti-Aging Arsenal

Vitamin C Serum Perfect for Anti-Aging

Mariah's Lets Talk Beauty, Vitamin C Serum by La Beaute Pure

Hi all, I was lucky enough to receive Vitamin C Serum, from La Beaute Pure, for hubby and I to use. I have so say that the shipping was very speedy and the packaging was secure in bubble wrap, no breakage at all (like some products I received in the past in glass containers)… so I was happy when I opened up the package and saw to my surprise the container is nice brown glass.

bubblewrapped Vit C Serum
bubblewrapped Vit C Serum

The brown glass of the bottle, as with any product, is an indication of a product that is best kept out of the light and should be placed in a closed cabinet, cupboard, draw, you name it. Why is it perfect for this product? Vitamin C can be unstable, but it’s one of the newest products in our Anti-Aging Arsenal, as finally they found a way to stabilize vitamin c for skin care.

This product comes with a dropper… now careful about exposure to the air, close tightly and when you go to squeeze the bulb of the eyedropper, squeeze it outside of the bottle before you dip it in to have is suck up the product… The Air (namely Oxygen) can diminish the effectiveness of the product, just like exposure to light can

Though this product is not advertised for this purpose, I believe that this product also helps with Adult Acne, as I’ve been using products with the same Vitamin C (Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate) in them and it seemed to help my Adult Acne, as my system has decided to go into Peri – Menopausal, the hormone changes (as well as the sweats) seemed to make me break out for a while, this changed a few months ago when I started using products with Vitamin C in it on my skin. And since Vitamin C is anti-bacterial, I know that it should help with the skins inflammation caused by the bacteria in acne.

Vitamin C Serum bottle & dropper
Inside the bubble wrapped I found individually wrapped Vitamin C Serum and a Dropper.

While using Vitamin C, it may take a while to see improvement, but it is said to help with your production of Collagen and Elastin, which helps with wrinkles, firming the skin, and fading skin discolorations (such as dark spots, freckles, liver spots, age spots) from sun exposure too. Basically help your skin recover from sun exposure and help reverse the signs of aging. And more pluses, Vitamin C has been shown to be an Anti-Oxidant for the skin.

What does La Beaute Pure Say about their product? Here is a quote:

Organic Vitamin C Serum: Dr. Oz Recommended for Healthy Beautiful Skin

You eat an organic diet, use an organic skincare
-Fades sunspots, dark spots & discolorations
-Prevents free radicals
-Helps Collagen tighten skin
-Fine lines & wrinkles are less noticeable within 2-6 months (results vary)
-Works for up to 72 hours: Does not wash off

Vitamin C Serum with dropper in it.

Now I haven’t used this product long enough to tell you how it works for me, or for my husband. But what I can tell you is that the Vitamin C Serum is 98% Naturally Derived & 72% Organic! Nice! The Vitamin C is #3 on the list of ingredients so it seems not to be overly diluted (I would tell you what % the Vitamin C is, but I failed to ask the company, sorry, but if I receive this information, I will include in a review of results on my skin as well as my husband’s in a few months.) I love the fact that this product has Aloe in it… I believe that this is why, when I am using it, it didn’t sting like the skin care line I’ve been using for several months does.

Vitamin C Serum Picture

How to use The Vitamin C Serum:

Make sure that prior to use that you read the instructions on the bottle. You should use this product on freshly washed and toned skin. Wait until you Vitamin C Serum is dry to apply your moisturizer. And a side note, WEAR SUNSCREEN every day… it’s important to be careful in the sun while using this product. I recommend an SPF higher than a 15… best be careful and not be sorry. With using Vitamin C Serum your skin may become susceptible to sunburn & sun damage, counter productive to what you are trying to do with the Serum… so wear that Sunscreen my beauties!

Oh and another note, I picked up my Vitamin C Serum by La Beaute Pure on! 🙂

Thank you to La Beaute Pure for letting me try your product and entrusting me with this review of your product.
