Howdy everyone, this is a long time awaited for review here. But fortunately I’ve seen these hats being worn here in Colorado all year round. And thankfully Kim of Kim’s Crochet Creations the creator of these wonderful hats, who has been so patient with me as my husband and I went through all the drama of his being attacked and dealing with all those broken bones etc.
Anyhow, I was so very happy to receive this lovely blue slouch hat to wear, nothing looks as good on red hair as greens or blues do! Well that’s my humble opinion anyway. Now this blue isn’t just plain old blue this one has some pretty silver in it as well, so lovely!
The flower in the picture above is not included with the hat, I added it for the Easter like theme. 🙂
Hi there everyone, today I would like to introduce you all to Dearfoams, the slipper company that has been in business for over 60 years. And as they put it they “pioneered foam-cushioned slippers” since 1947! With that much practice a nearly a billion pairs of slippers since, how could they go wrong?
And here I am going to age myself to all you readers… I remember how much I loved this following commercial, I even received a nice pair of those slippers a while after this aired. I located this on the Dearfoams YouTube Page… ah brought back memories!
When I was invited to pick a pair of slippers from Dearfoams new fall line I was so happy and I jumped at the chance. And as I’ve discovered with my beautiful new pair of slippers, they have continued to make the most comfortable pair of slippers that I’ve ever owned. The Quality, comfort and beauty of these slippers I haven’t seen anywhere else either. The Dearfoams line has some of the most fun and sassy slippers, as well as the more traditional styles… basically they have slippers to meet all tastes.Out of the Fall line, I chose the black fur boot slippers (pictured above) that can be worn as either a tall, knee high boot, cuffed or worn as slouch boots. I chose those knowing that my calves are larger than average… after all Madame Seda, my NY Ballet instructor had warned me that dancing on my toes would make my calves thick… and sure enough she was right on. So I figured I best be cautious with what pair of boot like slippers I chose for my review and giveaway, surprise surprise, I can wear those slippers up over my calves although snug, they are not uncomfortable at all, I really love the versatility of this boot slipper.
I love these washable comfortable boots, they are a big help with my Raynaud’s (a circulatory problem with cold feet and hands that can cause your to lose fingers and toes if your not careful enough with cold, such as weather, the refrigerator and freezer… and in my case the house we just bought has a crawl space without any insulation under our floors) and helps to keep my tootsies good an comfortable, relaxed and warm.
As for the soles of my feet, I feel like I am walking on a cloud with these slippers on my feet. Looking at the difference seems to be the Dearfoams Multi-density cushioned comfort system… I cannot think of much else to say to you all about these lovely slippers, but that you should enter to win yourself a pair!
Dearfoams, thank you so much for my pair of slippers and thank you for offering 3 readers a chance to win their own pair. and you can choose from the 2 styles featured in this post, and there are 2 patterns/colors to choose from in each of the styles… the same slippers that I got to choose from. 🙂

Hi everyone, I hope your all doing well! Have you been searching for beautiful, stylish plus size clothing for yourself, a friend or family member? I was so lucky to be contacted by Alight to do a review and giveaway as they have such a great variety of clothing and accessories.
Ladies, I must say, don’t do what it’s tempting to do… don’t neglect yourself as you are trying to lose weight or hope to, treat yourselves right, dress yourself nicely no matter what your weight is! I gained a lot of weight on the steroids (Prednisone) for my Lupus SLE and I went years neglecting to treat myself to nice clothing, hoping I could get off my meds and get my weight down. Please don’t do this to yourselves, check out Alight Plus Size Clothing for some of the most Trendy Plus Size clothing and cloth yourself, you’d be so surprised at how great you can feel by dressing in stylish clothing!
The examples I am showing below are to show that you can find many choices for a large variety of tastes and budgets.
And you can also help those friends and family members feel good about themselves to, it’s not too early to purchase gifts for the Holiday Season either. 🙂 Do like I do and set up a gift box, for those up coming celebrations, Holidays and for one of those “oops, I need something for a gift” times. And this doesn’t have to be just clothing, either as Alight has the most wonderful accessories and jewelry.
Now Alight has just about anything in clothing that you could wish for, and the sales are fantastic… you can look for Jeans, Tank Tops, Blouses, T-shirts and from casual dresses to prom and bridesmaid dresses. I haven’t gotten bored looking around their site still, and I keep coming back to look around, I have picked out a couple of Turquoise and teal shirts that I want to pick up one of these days to replace the one that I just noticed is wearing out. I just love turquoise and teal with my red hair… so lovely together, so for me it’s a must have color in my wardrobe. I am also looking at some clothing there for some friends that can sure use a pick me up, being that I used to analyze what colors work best for people (Color Me Beautiful) and that Alight has so many styles from Empire Waist to sinched at the waist and ruched styles, there are styles to enhance and camouflage any body type.
I received a dress from Alight and it’s very lovely, nice thin lightweight material for summer wearing and not to fear this dress has a built in lining, also a nice lightweight fabric so that your skin can breath. If you sew, like I do you would appreciate that the tension we perfect on this dress as the needles top and bottom tension is perfect. There was only a slight imperfection (not a straight line) in a part of the stitching but nothing you’d notice, especially if you don’t sew or examine the seams like I do. lol Yes I have sewn my clothing for years and I tend to be overly critical in my examining the seams, tension and technique. The seams are nicely finished in a serge and the hems are doubled up to a nice finish and no buckling in the hems, the lining layer hangs down nicely with an added bit of material just below main (outside) hemline, in one of the colors that is in the main part of the dress, this adds a nice finishing touch to the dress.
The dress is also 100% cotton, which is perfect for summer time (my camera acted up when I went to transfer the picture to my computer, so sorry I lost the picture of myself in it, with my shawl on top, to hide the bra straps). To keep myself from doing too much ironing, I take this dress out of the drier while still slightly damp and place it on a hanger straighten out some by hand and let it hang dry… this way the trusty iron only has a few places to touch up and I don’t have to iron the whole dress. 🙂 Also, if you forget to take the cotton item out of the drier while still a little damp… you can do one of two things, one dampen a towel and put it in with just the dress and it will help get rid of some wrinkles… and you can invest in a “Wrinkle Release” product, I love to have some sitting around for those times that I must wear something but don’t have time to iron. 🙂
The dress that was chosen for me is just as lovely as lovely can be, I do have to say that I will want to wear a shawl, a shrug or some sort of cover up over it as I am too large chested to go without a bra and I don’t care for my bra straps to show in spaghetti strapped dresses or shirts. That is the only down side to me with this dress and it’s really not a big deal, I just need to keep in mind, in the near future, that I need to purchase of a good strapless bra to go in this so that I can show off the lovely slimming shape this dress gives to me. 🙂
Now for the fun part! Enter to Win! This drawing will be over in 30 days, so you have plenty of chances to win! Alight will take your size and choose a piece of clothing for you. The giveaway is available to US and Canadian Residence and will end on 9/21/11.
Good Luck to all our friends!
9/11 Update: Sorry this Giveaway is Over, I wish I could tell you to watch for the next promised of the 3 monthly reviews, but Alight notified me that there was a stop on these promised giveaways for the time being. *sigh*

I would like to introduce you all to Crazy Dog T-shirts, I was invited to pick out one of their T-Shirts to test out. I have to say I had a rough time deciding as they have so very many T-Shirts to choose from. They have many catagories of TShirts to choose from and I found myself laughing at some very silly T-Shirts as well as looking at the Video Game T-shirts… I really got a hoot out of the T-shirt of protection +6 Defense and the Invisiblity T-shirt (currently deactivated). lol
I also had a good laugh at the “About Us” Link at the bottom of their Home Page as I waited for my t-shirt to arrive and did my research. You really must read the “About Us” to read how CrazyDog TShirts got started, that’s the part I laughed out… good for you “Mom” for putting your foot down. lol And it’s so reassuring to know that if your unhappy with your T-Shirt you can just send it back and pick a new one! How cool is that? 🙂
I suppose I should tell you what T-Shirt I settled on the Merlottes Bar T-Shirt, yes I watch True Blood on Cable and I love the show. I found that shirt under the Category of Cool T-Shirts. I am quite happy with the T-Shirt and glad that I went a size up in that shirt, as it is a nicely shaped women’s T-shirt that fits pretty snugly as it follows the curves. The description on the t-shirt had, at the time of my ordering it had said “slim fit”… I noticed it no longer says that, so perhaps they are not going with the same fit in the t-shirts for this one any longer and are going with the usual boxy t-shirts. Anyway be sure to read the descriptions on the T-shirts so that you know if there is any adjustments to make for your size etc. 🙂
The T-shirt is so soft, that I love how it feels against my skin, the tshirt is so soft and comfortable that it’s like wearing an old pair of jeans, you know the ones that you don’t want to throw away? Yup, except it’s a t-shirt. lol And the print on the shirt is perfectly done… I’ve seen shirts at these prices where the t-shirt was nothing but ordinary and the print messed up or a smudge on the t-shirt of the print and I’ve seen the print not perfectly set one color on top of the other.
Thank you so much to Crazy Dog T-shirts for my lovely T-shirt and because of you I found yet another place that I can recommend to my readers, friends and family for their T-shirt purchases. And I know I shall be back to order from you soon, as I already know my husband needs a couple of these shirts for himself as he sat looking over my shoulder and laughed at the great t-shirts as well as I did.
Time now, for a giveaway, oh yes! 🙂
Sorry the Giveaway is Expired!

I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity work on review of Tommie Copper Compression Wear. I picked the compression shirt to help support my shoulders, I’ve been having a serious flare with the bursitis with the additional pain of Fibromyalgia in my shoulder.
I had noticed Tommie Copper on the Television with their Commercial with Montel Williams as their spokes person, with his MS it states that really has helped him with his pain. Well, I admit it, I thought the products sounded too good to be true. Yet I was intrigued and so happy when I along with my friend at Joan (who I worked with on my old blog Joan and Mariah’s Reviews) were invited to try out the Tommie Copper compression T-shirt in June 2011. Joan was fortunate enough to try many of their products and I received a choice of one product to try. Joan mentioned to the representative that I too have Chronic Pain issues, and so they were generous enough to throw in one shipment of a product for me to try too. I was tickled pink at the generosity at Tommie Copper for letting me participate in the review that was initially for Joan alone.
Tommie Copper was the brain child of a guy named Tommie Kallish, who had developed arthritis and tried many different kinds of support available. He did get some relief, however he did discover that these supports where not only thick but very uncomfortable to wear. So he tried many types of fabrics for support and through time he discovered the one that works best for him and that fabric is now being used in Tommie Copper Compression Wear.
Now we know where the Tommie part of the Company name came from, now how about the word Copper in the name? There is Copper in the compression/support wear. You many notice the Cu29 on their logo (the Cu is the elemental number of Copper and the atomic number for Copper is 29). I know from the past, when we tried copper bracelets at home for hubby and me, that copper is supposed to be a healing metal and at Tommie Copper they figured out an ingenious way of placing Copper in their products weave.
Sizing and Ordering my Product for the Review:
The person I wrote to about the Tommie Copper, helped me find the right size, I am large chested with small waist, this makes me person that is hard to fit, she took me down a size in the compression shirt for my waist and it works perfectly.
Receiving my Tommie Copper:
I received a nice silver toned bag with my Tommie Copper Top in it… I was amazed at how lightweight the mailing bag was.
Wearing the Compression Shirt:
I feel a nice compression with this shirt, I am currently wearing it under my sundress as I type, and it’s helping with my bad shoulder problem. I have a reoccurring case of bursitis in my shoulder, and, of course I recently placed it in a serious flare (be it my Fibromyalgia or my Bursitis) and I have had nothing but problems as I wait for an appointment with my Rheumatologist for steroid shot in my shoulder. This shirt has helped out my shoulder so much that I don’t think I will need the shot after all! 🙂 And I can’t forget to tell you that I have noticed that it does also help with some of the pain in my lower back and behind my shoulder blades.
Time for a little female secret while wearing this shirt, shhhhh…
Gals, does your chest get uncomfortable when it is close to that time of the month? Well with this shirt, it has a lovely V neck, and is stretchy enough that you can just take that neckline and move it over your chest and under your bra, so that you’re not wearing it over your chest at all. It didn’t stretch mine out and made it more comfortable for me during that “just before” time of the month. 🙂 Hey and it helps lift those “girls” up just a little too, hey I may be big chested but it does make you look slimmer that way too. Lol
Washing Tommie Copper:
Try to remember not use your fabric softener when washing your Tommie Copper items as the softening, in the fabric softeners, does not allow the Copper to properly work with your body, it sort of muffles the results you’d get. I one day washed mine in with other clothing and didn’t think about it, the compression still helped some but not as much as when I remembered not to use the fabric softener with it. Now I wash it, make a mental note to myself not to use fabric softener, and I remove the items from the washing machine and air dry them (using drier sheets for the remaining laundry in the dryer).
I love my shirt, it’s a soft fabric in a v-neck and lightweight enough that it isn’t hard to wear in the high temps outside today, note with the new house I don’t have AC so it’s very hot as we break records today, this holds in a little bit of the body heat, but that is a healing factor that I learned about while I was a dancer. And as I’ve done research on help for my Fibromyalgia, Lupus SLE I’ve read many reports on copper and the healing properties, as well as compression etc… many compression wear was too constraining to wear for any period of time, not with this shirt, I love the comfort, soft compression and not irritating fabric. The Tommie Copper Compression Shirt seems to breath with me, and let my skin still breath. And I love the sylish V-neck! I also love the non-slip band around the top so it doesn’t roll down and drive me nuts. A lot of thought went into these compression devices!
Added Note 2012: A year after writing this review on the old blog, I received their new compression Tights for women and reviewed them, you can see the review here.
