Finally Recovered Here

Howdy all, you’ve probably been wondering what I’ve been up to. Well this past weekend I had a garage sale at my house, two households across the street from me also held their garage sales at the same time. On the last day of the garage sale I was fortunate enough that two sweet ladies joined me in my front yard and sold some of their homemade, hand sewn pillows, while keeping me company. It was a shame that I didn’t have much relief from sitting out there, minding the garage sale, so I didn’t get a chance to visit with my other lovely neighbors that were across the street from me.

I kept myself in the shade, wore my sunscreen, my sun sleeves (from Sunny Sleevez) and a big floppy hat. I was well protected from the sun, but still hauling out (and back in) the items that were being sold at the garage sale did me in terribly, as did just being somewhat exposed to the outdoor heat and some sun. I’ve been fit to be tied… just so very exhausted and in a lot of pain.

I have finally recovered, somewhat, from all of this days later. I thank you all for your patience.

Another picture of the whole sign this time a little closer look at it.Mariah's Artwork, hand painting lockwood sign closeup lower right side flowersI have to say that one of the very first things that sold were my little hats that I knit years ago… and I’ve had an offer to sell more of them for a bigger price tag to cover the heads of some more kids nearby. So when I manage to get some free time, I will start doing some more of my knitting. I also had many complements on my sign up front, the one I hand painted… one person thought it maybe decoupage, because they couldn’t believe that someone painted it by hand. lol NICE HUH? Loved the complement! So perhaps someday I will be working on my painting once again and finding a way to make some money to help out with the bills at home here. I don’t know where I will find the time, but I will try! Who knows, I may have a way to finally make ends meet when it comes to my blog as well as our specialists and our medications here. 🙂

Mariah's Japanese Tea Set
You cannot see it well in the photo but this set is really ornate, gold like metal paint(?) all over the tea set design. Lovely, I never used it or displayed it… just don’t have room for this set, but not sure of the value (if any). Click to see larger image & feel free to message me if you have an idea of the maker and value. 🙂

I also met some fantastic people, including a man that told me to pull my Japanese Tea Set from the sale, saying that he has collected some like it and they are possibly too valuable to sell at a garage sale. I listened to him and pulled the set and as I gathered up a few more items for the 2nd day of the garage sale I pulled away from selling my little Cat Tea Pot from Japan as well, when I found that the line was discontinued in 1994 (yes I started checking online before putting things up for sale).

Mariahs Japanese Cat Teapot White Blue Flowers Ribbon Otagiri
My Japanese Cat Teapot White with Blue Flowers and Blue Ribbon around neck. Made in Japan by Otagiri (a line discontinued in 1994). I am also not sure of the value this has, the only cats like this, that I found online were blue background (quite popular) so this one seems rare. ???

I still  haven’t found the value of the Japanese Tea Set, nor the Cat Tea Pot, but I am holding onto them for a while just in case. 🙂

sunny sleevez on armMy health is doing well here, except for the pain level from the weekend. I am thankful that I had my sun sleeves (from a past review that I’ve done) to help shield me from the sun and keep my arms cool at the same time. One thought on them, if I had the review to do all over again or I went to buy another pair of Sun Sleeves, I would choose a more neutral color… I did feel a bit like an eccentric old lady out there with sleeves that bright on my arms and the big floppy hat. lol But I did do what was best for my health with the Lupus SLE and used them and they did the job! No sunburn folks! Yay!

Another big thank you to Sunny Sleevez for the great product, with my purple ribbon on them (Lupus and Fibromyalgia Awareness Ribbon is Purple).

Mariah Signing off for the Weekend

Hi everyone, yup Mariah is signing off for the weekend (speaking of myself in the third person).

I have been squeezing in posts in between preparing for a garage sale, working on the gardens (planting seeds, and rose bushes) and dealing with visits from neighbors, Insurance Adjusters & contractors (we had recent hail damage to our garage mainly, our roof, the garage roof & garage siding).

tiime to kick up your heels it's the weekendI have thrown myself into a major Flare with my Lupus SLE and Fibromyalgia. You would think that after all these years, of fighting chronic pain and the nerve pain from my spinal stenosis etc, that I would have learned not to push myself. But sometimes things just have to be done and there is no one else to do it but you.

I have decided that I must take the weekend off and try and recuperate before another busy week starts up. I have a ton more products to review for you here and I will do offline work on them late at night, when I feel up to it and save it to my Open Office documents.

Why am I telling you all of this?

  1. I want to be sure that you know there are some giveaways that you need to enter here.
  2. I need to dedicate myself to my health and, if you know me, you know that I will end up working anyway.
  3. I will miss you all and I want to send you some love and hugs.

Have a wonderful weekend folks, be sure to check and make sure you entered the giveaways going on and feel free to leave comments on any of my posts. 🙂 Here’s wishing you all a weekend full of Health, Happiness, feeling loved and appreciated!

Feel free to leave you comments on this picture, and let me know what your choice is. Hey I need to do something fun and different here, besides it will let me know that my posts are being read. 😛

Increase Mental Focus Supplement – Review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

I’ve been fortunate to have received a product to review from BioTerra Herbs , this supplement helps you to increase your mental focus. I love this companies sense of humor in their labels and names for their products. This product to help with your Mental Focus is called “huh?”. lol

On on side of the label, it reads:

Mental Focus

Sometimes it’s just really hard to focus. Your head is in the clouds, you can’t stay on track and the amount of work that actually is getting done… will probably have to be done re-done. Whatever the epic task – from punching keys on a computer to cramming mid-term studies (really? in one hour?) to training for a three-legged hula-hoop triathlon opposite grandma – it’s time to buckle down and zone in on the assignment at hand. Grab your hula-hoop and put your game face on- Grandma is going down!

LOL! I just love a company that is not only herbal, all natural etc… but has a sense of humor!

Huh? herbal supplement with 2 capsules and a glass of waterWe are all bombarded for almost every waking hour of the day with the constant incoming stimulation from constant distractions in our world today. The distractions from modern contact with the outside world, mobile phones, television, computers and tablets are everywhere and constantly vying for our attention. Not to mention how busy divided we are with work (especially work at home), children, spouses (or significant others), friends and family all needing out attention too.

This is where my desire for increased focus comes in…

I live in a small house, my husband and I are disabled and so we are home all the time. I have 2 little lap dogs, the weather outside is becoming nice and Spring like… and technology drives me to distraction.

Health issues that cause chronic pain and ADD, also contributes to my problems focusing.

Can you identify with any of these?

Basically, we live in a world full of distractions which inhibit your ability to focus.

I received the product from BioTerra shipment in a very timely fashion. I feel very safe taking “Huh?” as it’s an herbal supplement.

The herbs, in this natural supplement, are:

Active ingredients:

jujube seeds (not jujube candies, but seeds of the fruit that they were possibly named after), Poria, Asian Ginseng Root, Desert Boomrape stem, schisandra fruit, polyagalla root, grass-leaf Sweetflag rhizome.

Other ingredients:

Vegetarian Capsules & rice flour

You can look up all of these ingredients with a search online to see any safety information, and/or the properties of these natural supplements.

Now you shouldn’t take some of these ingredients if you are pregnant or nursing. If you are on Medications, please see your doctor and show him the ingredients to see if you can take it. Basically, as always, I advise you that it’s always better to be safe than sorry! For me, there were no problems with my taking this with my medications, I just had to be sure to take it after a meal.

My experience with “Huh?” (lol, I love the name) one day, while my ADD was acting up, and I opened up the box. The shipping box was cushioned nicely inside, securing the product inside for safe shipping. The bottle cap was safety sealed with plastic around it, and then the top of the bottle (under the cap) was also sealed over the opening. I removed the seal and found a the cotton in the top of the supplement capsules, keeping them nice and safe from any jarring in shipment.

I read the label and took 2 capsules, since I had eaten not to long before. I was prepared for anything… I really didn’t feel anything but a soft sort of energy, my mind was wondering less and I was more focused indeed. It wasn’t anything too powerful, but what would be powerful would have to be a miracle pill or would perhaps over energize my body and not my brain focus. I also noted that with repeated use, at 2 capsules per day, that the product seemed to build in effectiveness… NICE!

I admit there was a bit of time there that I had not taken these, though I could have used them a few times during my recent visit to my parents home in the mountains. I neglected to bring the bottle with me, but I had the box (yes I save and use the box for in my reviews, for information contained on them). I did intend to write up this review sooner, however I chose to just visit with my parents and I only wrote up one review in my time up there.

huh supplement mental focus capsulesMy thoughts on the product:

  • The focus is very nice.
  • The supplement it’s gentle on me…enough so that I don’t notice being jittery nor do I notice being too relaxed to concentrate.
  • I notice the difference when I don’t take the “Huh?” Supplement.
  • With the product, I do seem to focusing better, especially with the distractions Spring time finally starting up.
  • I’ve learned to love this product and I feel that I can honestly recommend it to others because of my experience with it.

Thank you so much BioTerra for entrusting me with this review and choosing me to receive the product to try through Tomoson. I love the experience I’ve had with this supplement.

Have Pill Box, Will Travel – Review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

Sabi logI was lucky enough to receive a Travel Pill Box to Review.. this pill box is a Holster Clip & Go Travel Pill Box by Sabi sold on Amazon. As many of you know I am disabled with health problems, as a result of these health problems I have medications that I need to take several times a day. Whenever I go anywhere for the day or during the hours that I need to take my medications. I have needed to find a way to bring my medications with me on many occasions.

My Experience Before Receiving This Travel Pill Box from Sabi

In the past there has been occasions in which I have forgotten to bring my medications along with me. And/or I would be out for a longer period of time than I anticipated and so I wouldn’t have enough of my medications along with me.

I had used the daily part of my weekly medication pill box, in the past, however my new purse wouldn’t accommodate this daily portion, as my purse has fairly large spaces on both sides of the zipper. Worse yet the little container would pop open and I would end up digging in my purse for the medicines as they were loose in the bottom of my purse as a result.

My next solution was to place the little daily portion container in a ziplock bag. When that didn’t work to well, I started using little candy container to place my medications in, and I kept a supply in my purse for those “just in case times.” This seemed to work out fine, but after a while I realized that the medications were getting knocked around too much and the longer the medications stayed in the container the more breaking apart of the tablets became noticeable. Besides if I were in a movie theater or somewhere that I could not take my time, it was a pain to take out exactly what medications I needed.

Along came this Holster Clip & Go Travel Pill Box to the rescue!

Sabi pill box and box

I can place each of my medications into the separate 3 areas and have enough for one full day, since I take my most of my medications 3 times daily.

With the clip on this handy little travel pill box, I am able to clip it to my purse and not worry about the pill box falling out. I can also just slide open the pill box to remove the exact pills that I need to take and I don’t have to worry about digging around in my purse. Nor do I have to worry about swallowing pocket fuzzies with my medication… yes I admit it, I have gone so far, in the past, as to put my medications in my pants pocket.

Sabi pill box and the purseThe Quality of the Sabi  Holster Clip & Go Travel Pill Box, In My Humble Opinion

Pill Box in Pilot PocketThis BPA-Free pill box feels quite sturdy and so far, for almost a month of usage, I have not had a problem with it pulling open on me, and it is easy for painful hands, like mine, to slide open and close. I imagine that those with Arthritic hands would be quite pleased with this little pill box’s convenience and ease of use. I was able to fit into the compartments, 4 pills in all… and 2 of the pills are not small but rather large “horse pills” to me.

This pill box is just a part of the offerings by Sabi, as a matter of fact this is the smaller version of their HOLSTER grande pill box, so there are more options at Sabi for you to choose from. I like this smaller version, as it easily fits into my little purse, it would also fit into your pockets and taken where ever you go, I can see using this for airplane trips too!

Shared Positivity Review And Giveaway

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

Alexa's Angels inspired designsI was so very fortunate to have been asked to review a set of 3 bracelets. What is so special about these bracelets? They bring with them a message of positivity and sharing that positivity as well. I am a firm believer in trying to let myself find the positive in so many situations, and passing on that feeling… whether it be smiling at a stranger, laughing with a friend and trying to bring hope to them when they are feeling down or hopeless.

What an appropriate name for the company that is spreading the message of positivity, “Alexa’s Angels”

positivity bracelet closed tissue paper in box pink

I received my box from Alexa’s Angels in no time at all and instantly as I opened up the box, I found myself so impressed with the presentation of the bracelets. Inside the plain cardboard box I found myself staring at (and trying not to rip) a beautifully wrapped gift like presentation, as I saw the pink tissue paper closed with a golden “Alexa’s Angels inspired designs” sticker. Beneath the sticker was a lovely message that stated:

“We are all angels with only one wing – we can fly only embracing each other”

Sweet huh? Yes, I thought you’d like that after all, you my beautiful followers, tend to be so much like me and you find yourself touched by lovely quotes and loving messages, like this. 🙂

Alexa's Angels Box with positivity bracelet enclosed

Once I opened the tissue paper I was greeted by lovely pink paper “grass” and a lovely little box that contained the beautiful set of 3 elegantly simple bracelets in a shear golden bag. The message on the bracelet is simply the words positivity (spelled “posi+ivi+y”). I love all the plus signs used instead of the “t’s” in the word… I thought the word was so creatively thought out and is spelled out on the silver toned metal area of these bracelets. The band is much like a “tie back” for the hair, like I keep saying elegantly simple and simply elegant… that is my reaction to these bracelets. And the first person I shared this with was my mother, and she too agreed with me, she simply loves wearing her bracelet! The third bracelet I plan to mail off to a friend that in a support group that my friend Joan and I started (Women Supporting Women) had mentioned her message about positivity. How wonderful for that old friend to mention living life with positive thought and her timing was perfect, I knew then that I would sending her a bracelet too! 🙂

Different Colors of Positivity Bracelets

Alexa’s Angels has a nice selection of different colored bracelets from the black bracelets, like my Mother and I are wearing, to light pink and 6 vivid colors. They also have some school/team two-toned colors as well. As Alexa’s Angels says:

“They are a great way to build team spirit and support a good cause.”

“See them all at

Oh and I almost forgot, the reverse side of the bracelet has a wonderful link on it, if you follow the link:, you will find a website where you can read or publicly share inspirational stories, photos, and quotes.

Speaking of positivity, and inspirational stories… I will share something I find inspirational with you.

My Mother loves the message as well as I do (and you wondered where I got my positive attitude to life, with all the health complications and chronic pain I go through… now you know, I got it from my Mother! Lol). As many of you may recall, my Mother went into surgery about a year ago and suddenly during surgery they lost the nerve connections to the legs and my Mother has become a paraplegic. Throughout all my Mother has been through, I’ve found her strength to be very inspirational and surprisingly she’s remained so positive. Even as my Mother is currently dealing with 3 infections, and some sores, taking 5 antibiotics, she is amazing as she takes all of the news in stride and that woman’s strength as she remains positive, is just inspirational to me. The most amazing part is that she is so positive even though life has slowed this once very active woman down and is now basically bed ridden. My Mother is truly an inspiration to me and I hope that I can continue to be a positive person despite all that my illnesses may bring my way and that I may have the strength that my Mother shows.

Attitude is a choice message
The message that is enclosed in the Posi+ivi+y Bracelet Card.

I cannot close this off without mentioning how amazing my Father is too, all the things he’s taken upon himself and still he too remains positive through it all. I am truly lucky, I have two very inspirational parents that have taught me to look at life from a positive perspective and I hope that I can help be an inspiration to others, like they have been for me.
