Phytoceramides Review – Weeding Thru the Lies to find the Truths

As a former Cosmetologist I have sorted through Phytoceramides Lies & Truths. I have also tried out the Phytoceramides for myself and so this post also contains my honest review of Phytoceramides (I reviewed Phytoceramides by Purely Holistic). My review can be seen at the end of this post.

Mariahs Lets Talk Beauty phytoceramides
The Truth, The Lies and a Honest Review

Phytoceramides, has been said, by Dr. Oz to be “The Natural Facelift.” So many people are seeking out Phytoceramides and unless they do careful research they are bound to find misleading posts about this supplement. I hope to help you sort through this information and as always, if you have questions please do comment and I will try my best to answer them for you.

First off what got me (a former Cosmetologist) interested in Phytoceramides?

I first heard of Phytoceramides through Dr. Oz and his show. I had written down the word “Phytoceramides” online and read up on it after seeing the Dr. Oz show and I told myself to remember that I MUST try it someday. Well we all know how the “Somedays” can go, don’t we? Things get set aside, forgotten and if it’s online (and if you are like me) it is added to your ever growing list of bookmarks in your browser. Where do you save those things that you want to try out someday? Mine go into my Wish List & Gift List Folder in my bookmarks and it gets buried in with all the other things that I wish to explore further one day.

The Lies:

Don’t Trust Everything You Read Online (Claims from some brands and online posts/reviews etc):

These Claims Could not be verified by me: While doing my research, I had read repeatedly, that Ellen Degeneres, Cindy Crawford, Jennifer Aniston, and Kelly Ripa all were claimed to use Phytoceramides and it was told to some magazine (mysteriously left out of all articles saying this) by a dermatologist, Dr. Richard Peters. But strangely enough all the sites used the same wording and didn’t reveal the magazine.

Strange dramatic, Photoshopped pictures: Almost all of them had pictures of wrinkles, some the exact same one, even showing drastic improvement in 5 days! Oh, come on, 5 days and wrinkles almost gone? Nope!

And this always makes me feel uncomfortable: Basically each of these suspicious sights had two other things in common.

  1. The same article written over and over, on different sites (just changed ever so slightly).
  2. On some pages, you had to click a little pop up asking you if you were sure that you wanted to leave!

Now here is the Truth:

HonestlyMariah Beauty Lady wwwhonesltymariahcomWhat Lies (above) upset me the most?

They are out and out lying that the results could be seen within a few days!

The results take about 27 days to be seen. This former Cosmetologist isn’t fooled by the false claims of results within days and Photoshopped pictures that those sites show. For a supplement like this that helps support your skin by binding moisture to your skin to work, it has to start from the inside outward. You have multiple layers of the skin that come up to the surface as the natural regeneration of the skin takes place. On average it takes 27 days to regenerate the skin  and as you age the regeneration of skin cells (the turn over rate) can take longer.

Information I found from the FDA’s Report on Photo-derived Ceramides   (http://www.fda.gov/ohrms/dockets/dockets/95s0316/95s-0316-rpt0240-05-Udell-vol175.pdf):

If a certain amount of Phytoceramide is ingested every day, the following benefits could be attained.

  • Because ceramide suppresses free radicals, ceramide can enhance the protection of tissues from external harmful effects (pollution, sunshine and stress).
  • Ceramide moisturizes the skin by its hydration capability.
  • Ceramide achieves wrinkle prevention by its elastase suppression and collagen protection.

I was fortunate enough to be one of the chosen people to receive a chance to review this product, yup, sometimes dreams really do come true!

Phytoceramides Skin Therapy SupplementI received my bottle of Phytoceramides from Purely Holistic on Amazon in no time at all and still a bit skeptical about all the benefits that I found online… but, you know me by now, I am a sucker to fact check left and right, especially when it comes to beauty products.

What do I think of Phytoceramides?

Here is how my 51 year old Peri-menopausal Skin has responded to the Phytoceramides.

My skin has been breaking out with my hormones going wild and nothing had been helping. I couldn’t believe that while using product I woke up to find my skin had cleared up.

As I look in the mirror, carefully and judging my skin… it’s been a month and I have finished my bottle. My skin looks and feels smoother. And I see better results than using my usual facial care routine alone! The skin looks firmer and the wrinkles, that have been creeping into my skin, have softened now. What more can I say, I smile and walk away, ready to share with the world that I am pleased with the results I see.

I need to get my hands on more Phytoceramides from Purely Holistic as I heard (somewhere) that it can take up to 3 months of taking the supplements to see the fullest results of taking the supplement.

Mariah of HonestlyMariah dot com and her Phytoceramides supplementMy Advice to you:

I know this sounds cliche but here it goes, don’t be fooled by a lot of dishonest companies and affiliates out there! There are a lot of lies out there as well as phoney reviews.

What to watch out for:

  • Claims of results within days accredited to the supplement.
  • Pages that has the exact same results pictures, wording or claims as other articles (posts or reviews) that you have seen elsewhere.

PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT THE COMPANIES OR REVIEWERS THAT LIE OR MISLEAD YOU BY BUYING FROM THEM!

Who I DO TRUST is Purely Holistic and their Phytoceramides. But remember, this is only my opinion and my results, folks yours may vary. Please do your research before you trust that any supplement may work for you and check with your doctor to make sure Phytoceramides are right for you… I haven’t heard of any problems with these products, except for Gluten & Wheat Allergies (no worries with Purely Holistic’s Phytoceramides, they are rice based), but you never know.

Thank you to Purely Holistic for allowing me the wonderful opportunity to both try out their Phytoceramides and to run the recent massive giveaway! I have seen the results and I am sold and I want to continue using your product to watch for further enhancements to my skin with  your Phytoceramides.

The Process of Removing Gemstones From Settings

Sponsor: Jewelers Refining Group, Inc.sparkling gem

Sometimes, it takes a combination of something old and something new to get the perfect ring. In some cases, people love a gemstone that is set in an old ring but want to update the ring itself. This may be triggered by a personal preference for a certain type of metal or the positioning of the stone in the old setting.

This is a process that is best left to professional jewelers. They have studied gemstones and know how to remove them without damaging them or changing their appearance. Some jewelers provide this service for free to those who have continually done business with them. Others may charge about $10 per stone. It is important to get prices before leaving the stone with a selected jeweler. No matter what they charge, they will likely ask to see the stone first to determine what must be done to remove it from its setting.

ring drawingMost jewelers use a process that allows them to melt the metal around the gemstone using a chemical. Then they carefully remove the gemstone from the chemical solution. They have to clean the gemstones after this process to make them safe for other uses. They do not discard the solution that contains the metal. Instead, they use another chemical to remove the fine metals from the first solution. Then they melt the metals into bars and measure the purity of the bars.

Although many people try to do this process at home themselves by pending the gemstone prongs and removing the stone, it is not recommended. This do-it-yourself technique does not preserve the stone. It defeats the purpose of removing the stone in the first place.
