The rest is history as I felt that I simply had to apply to review the book, not only for myself but for some people that I know would be interested in a good book on this topic. For those folks that I know will be checking this post out, I just had to let them know what I thought of the book…. lucky me my application to review the book was accepted.

Crowd-Funding Projects are a mystery to most, but not to me, not any longer.

Now I had very limited understanding of crowd-funded projects, until I read this book. I had seen a project like this in action a few years ago. “Twig the Fairy,”a beautiful lady (that I follow on Facebook) that dresses up as a Fairy and travels around the country appearing in Renaissance Fairs. Twig had used Kickstarter for her Fairy Book for Children. I couldn’t contribute anything but share the updates and information with all my followers on facebook & in emails… hey every little bit helps. This was the limit of my experience/understanding of these crowd-funding projects.

Although I didn’t understand how this all works, I did know that I have 3 or 4 people following my blog that could use some information on this… for all I know many more of you can use this information too!

You and your product no longer need to sit waiting for a wealthy benefactor to contribute to the productions realization.

In this book you will find all that you need to assist you in fulfilling those financing needs… WELL that is IF you manage to get noticed! Getting Noticed is one of the most important things that this book talks about.

Welcome to the world of online Crowd-funded Projects

You may be wondering what Kickstarter and Indiegogo are, well they are only 2 of the many sites online tailored towards the crowd-funded projects. To name some of the other sites offering such services there are also Mobcaster, Rockethub and GoFundMe.

In the book “Hacking Kickstarter, Indigogo (how to raise big bucks in 30 days)” you may notice Patrice referring to Kickstart Projects frequently. If you choose another site for your Crowd-Funding Projects, never fear, this informative book will be just as valid with any of the other sites.

The best way to use this book?

Obviously the best way would be to use it before you start your campaign… however… The book is so very thorough that it is still valid for those already in their campaign!

Patrice take you by the hand and shows you around the big wide world of Crowd-Funding Projects…

Patrice guides you through building your “Tribe,” as she calls it, all the way to the end of your Campaign. All the important research has been done for you, in this book and what is even better than someone researching and advising you in a book, is that the author has practical experience in these hints, tips and Secrets that she shares with you!

After reading this book, I felt like a warm and caring new friend just patiently explained everything that anyone would need to know about Crowd-Funding Projects. I found this book extremely easy to read, and hard to put down. The Author describes what you need or should do, she has set up links throughout the book for examples of what she is talking about. She also takes you by the hand, if your Campaign should happen to fail, and she gives you the tools you need to assist you on getting back on the proverbial horse.

I have to tell you that my head is still swimming with all the information that I found contained in this book. I do see what a pain it must have been for Patrice to wade through the oceans of sites to find just the right ones for her book examples and all those great Secrets that she shares… you gotta love it that all the leg work has been done for you!

This is not one of those books that you read once and never return to. I just don’t see myself  getting rid of this treasure trove of information! I can see myself coming back to it again and again to read through this book.

I chose to get the book from iTunes and as I read I started adding in the little red bookmarks (though I don’t know much about ibooks from itunes, I don’t even know if there is a way to go directly to my little red bookmarks). I do plan to go back now and start again from the very beginning and take notes for myself and my future use.

For people wishing to take on the endeavor of creating a Crowd-Funded Campaign, keep in mind, it’s not an easy task… nothing worth while is, is it? You have a ton of work ahead of you and if you follow this book step by step, I don’t feel you will be just another of the many fish in the sea, I firmly believe that you will get yourself noticed and this is exactly what you need when you are trying to get people to help fund your project.
