Snow, Snow, Snow – Colorado White Christmas, if it sticks around.

I want to know, do I live in Texas or what? lol Nope, as my husband who lived in Texas would say “we live in a suburb of Texas,” I live in Colorado. I believe we must be trying to be like Texas or perhaps the Weather man is from Texas, but he’s without the accent. Our snow forecast said 7 inches of snow and we did the snow here big time, just like Texas where they do everything big, and we managed to get 18 inches here at my house!

measuring the snow on top of a table outside = 18 inches
2 foot ruler in lowest part of the snow, equals 18 inches

The good news is, it looks like we will have a white Christmas here and the scenery is so very beautiful with the appearance of sugared trees & snow coated houses etc. It’s too bad you cannot see the sparkling on the snow that we see when the clouds clear, it’s so lovely.

For those that are, as the song says, “Dreaming of a White Christmas”, I have put a few seconds of snow up on our blog for you. In case you didn’t notice it, reload the page. ๐Ÿ™‚

While I am on to topic of snow, I found some wonderful information & close up pictures of snow online. The flakes are simply amazing to behold in close up.

here are a few examples of the beautiful pictures of snowflake close ups:

For more on the snowflakes, more pictures and info on them, either do a search on snowflakes info, snowflakes pictures or see the site where I found these pictures from Snow

I wish you all Happy Holidays and I hope this finds you all in good health! The next few days I will be doing a lot of baking and hemming a beautiful Christmas Dress (an early gift from Joan, as she knew with all the cancer & other medical bills, I couldn’t get a new dress or have any that fit me… isn’t she sweet?) for the celebrations this holiday season… anyhow you may not see much of me for a bit here… so have fun everyone and please be safe this holiday season!

Love and big hugs,

Dont eat yellow snow! My puppy eats snow close to yellow snow. lol

A word of caution folks, if you eat snow, avoid the yellow stuff! And if your already cold (like my freeze baby puppy is) don’t even eat the snow as it will make you even colder! Right after I laughed and took this shot I brought my poor little puppy in right away to warm him up, poor silly little guy. ๐Ÿ™‚

Soda with Stevia The Delicious Zevia Brand Soda – Review and Giveaway

Logo for Zevia, the soda pop made with Stevia

Hi there everyone, just in time for those New Years Resolutions, I want to introduce you all to Zevia, the Natural Diet Soda Sweetened with Stevia! I was lucky enough to be invited to try out some Zevia for a review and giveaway! Yay!

I have to honestly say, I was very curious about this soda when I had seen it advertised this past Summer and I was interested in trying this soda to see if it lived up to the great things I had heard some people say about it online. So I was very happy when I was invited Zevia's Stevia Frog with words Sweetened with Steviarecently to try out the soda.

Let me give you some background information on Stevia. Below is quoted from Wikipedia (

“The species Stevia rebaudiana, commonly known as sweetleaf, sweet leaf, sugarleaf, or simply stevia, is widely grown for its sweet leaves. As a sweetener and sugar substitute, stevia’s taste has a slower onset and longer duration than that of sugar, although some of its extracts may have a bitter or licorice-like aftertasteat high concentrations.

With its steviol glycoside extracts having up to 300 times the sweetness of sugar, stevia has garnered attention with the rise in demand for low-carbohydrate, low-sugar food alternatives. Because stevia has a negligible effect on blood glucose, it is attractive as a natural sweetener to people on carbohydrate-controlled diets.”

For more information on Stevia, please check out the wiki link above and the Stevia Info on

Being the kind of person that has been on diets almost all of my life, with years on steroids for Lupus SLE, which can (and to me it did) cause you to gain a great deal of weight. I’ve read everything I can get my hands on about the natural ways to keep weight off, to diet, and of course it didn’t hurt to hear that Stevia was 300 times sweeter than Sugar. Well my at home experience with Stevia, 10 years ago, was not that good… however I still had high hopes for Stevia.Zevia's Mountain Dew called Zevia MountainI received a 6 pack of the Mountain Zevia, I admit I made a face when I saw what flavor I received as I would have picked any other flavor but this one to sample. With the thoughts of my ex, and his Mountain “D” Sodas that he craved, dancing in my head, I placed a few cans in my refrigerator. I must admit that it took about a week or more before I tried one of the sodas and I was pleasantly surprised with the taste, it pretty good… although I don’t care for anything even close to that Mountain “D” product.

I have to admit that I still have 2 cans of this 6 pack left, but it’s not Zevia’s fault, it’s the memories attached to the Mountain flavor sodas. What can I say? The sweetness is good and it tastes refreshing with that sweetener in it, so I approve of Zevia and will gladly pick up some other flavor for myself when I can get to the natural food stores. I really hope that my local grocery store too will pick up on the Zevia as a great alternative to the artificial sweeteners they sell for diet soda.

Now folks we can do better than that for you, how about a winner receives a coupon for a free 6 pack of Zevia, this way you can choose your flavor? Ok, ok, it’s not my idea, it’s from the wonderful folks at Zevia… Yay! ๐Ÿ™‚

Zevia Ginger Root Beer Soda with SteviaI wish to thank Zevia for their kindness in sending my a 6 pack of their soda’s to try out, I know it’s not cheap to send something so heavy through the mail. Besides I didn’t think of requesting on flavor or another, and that is my fault, not yours Zevia… and low and behold you still managed to sell me on your soda sweetened with Stevia… I will be buying some at my local health food store soon! The sweetness wasn’t bitter like it was when I tried stevia sweetener packets a long time ago, I may try stevia again sometime soon!

OH And Folks, 2 more things before you go, drink you Zevia nice and cold in the can, it’s best very cold and drank right up! And Secondly… this Giveaway is US ONLY please… Thank you. ๐Ÿ™‚

(((hugs))) and Happy Holidays,

Dearfoams Warm Comfortable Slippers – Review and Giveaway

Hi there everyone, today I would like to introduce you all to Dearfoams, the slipper company that has been in business for over 60 years. And as they put it they “pioneered foam-cushioned slippers” since 1947! With that much practice a nearly a billion pairs of slippers since, how could they go wrong?

Dearfoams EST 1947

And here I am going to age myself to all you readers… I remember how much I loved this following commercial, I even received a nice pair of those slippers a while after this aired. I located this on the Dearfoams YouTube Page… ah brought back memories!

When I was invited to pick a pair of slippers from Dearfoams new fall line I was so happy and I jumped at the chance. And as I’ve discovered with my beautiful new pair of slippers, they have continued to make the most comfortable pair of slippers that I’ve ever owned. The Quality, comfort and beauty of these slippers I haven’t seen anywhere else either. The Dearfoams line has some of the most fun and sassy slippers, as well as the more traditional styles… basically they have slippers to meet all tastes.Slipper Boot Black furOut of the Fall line,ย  I chose the black fur boot slippers (pictured above) that can be worn as either a tall, knee high boot, cuffed or worn as slouch boots. I chose those knowing that my calves are larger than average… after all Madame Seda, my NY Ballet instructor had warned me that dancing on my toes would make my calves thick… and sure enough she was right on. So I figured I best be cautious with what pair of boot like slippers I chose for my review and giveaway, surprise surprise, I can wear those slippers up over my calves although snug, they are not uncomfortable at all, I really love the versatility of this boot slipper.

I love these washable comfortable boots, they are a big help with my Raynaud’s (a circulatory problem with cold feet and hands that can cause your to lose fingers and toes if your not careful enough with cold, such as weather, the refrigerator and freezer… and in my case the house we just bought has a crawl space without any insulation under our floors) and helps to keep my tootsies good an comfortable, relaxed and warm.

As for the soles of my feet, I feel like I am walking on a cloud with these slippers on my feet. Looking at the difference seems to be the Dearfoams Multi-density cushioned comfort system… I cannot think of much else to say to you all about these lovely slippers, but that you should enter to win yourself a pair!

Dearfoams, thank you so much for my pair of slippers and thank you for offering 3 readers a chance to win their own pair. and you can choose from the 2 styles featured in this post, and there are 2 patterns/colors to choose from in each of the styles… the same slippers that I got to choose from. ๐Ÿ™‚

Dearfoams would love it if you all would โ€œlikeโ€ them on Facebook ( and follow Dearfoams on Twitter.. while your at it the facebook and twitter can be entries into the giveaway, So click on “More” (below) to follow and like them and use that as part ofย  your entries into our giveaway!ย (

Also go on and check Dearfoams out on YouTube ( “for the latest news in the world of Dearfoams comfort and of course more chances to win great prizes.”
