I hope that you are all doing well today! Today I would love to introduce you to a company that has been out there for more then 160 years, Fissler, if you haven’t heard of them they are one of the worlds finest most reputable cookware companies. I was fortunate enough to be asked to test out one of their Kitchen Accessories, it’s was hard choosing just one at first.
If you know me, you know I love to cook, I love to cook so much that hubby and a couple of friends keep trying to push me to sign up for the next Master Chef Audition, but I just don’t have that kind of skill that those people do, plus with my health problems that could be a really bad ordeal for me. Anyway I finally decided on their product called “Turner Comfort,” the reason for my choice is simple, I was making eggs in the skillet one day and it struck me that why on earth no one has made spatulas to work with pans that are anything but square? So, even though many of their kitchen accessories looked very appealing to me, I just had to choose the one that spoke right to the problem that I had thought no one had ever thought of or addressed, the problem with curved home kitchen fry pans and spatulas that just grab from the two pointy edges that lead to the flat bottom of the spatula.
While I awaited the kitchen accessory in the mail, I did my research on Fissler. I found this information so interesting, I must be really out of the kitchenware loop to have not recalled their name, though it sounded vaguely familiar. Here is some information that I loved from their page:
If pots could speak, Fissler pots would have quite a lot to say. They would tell us about the era of the “goulash cannon” around the turn of the century, about the first aluminum pots for the electric stove – a sensation in the 1920’s. And they would certainly report on Fissler’s invention of the first stay-cool handles, all-stove base, pressure skillet, and ingenious application of space technology – which resulted in the first nonstick coating for pans. These are just a few examples drawn from the long list of Fissler traditions. They show the broad range of important inventions and developments which turned a small plumbing shop in 1845 into one of the world’s leading and most important cookware manufacturers. One thing is certain – today, each and every pot stands for over 160 years of experience, quality, and ideas. Every single product from Fissler proves – each and every day – that with them, cooking is more energy-efficient, healthful, and delicious.
My spatula (AKA: turner) arrived in the mail I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the feel of the product. The weight is nice and the handle is very nice to grip. there is a nice curve on one side of the spatula and flatter on the other side and of course flat on the bottom. The plastic like material is surprisingly stiff but has a little flex. The nicely rounded handle is textured. The back of the turner reads “Do Not Heat Over 200 degrees C” and “Do Not Leave in The Pan.” I looked it up my friends, and 200 degrees Celsius is 392 degrees Fahrenheit.
While using the turner, I found that the curved edge came in quite handy as is was almost the exact fit to the rounding of my fry pan and it did help me keep the eggs down and get them off the edge of the pan. Success! I knew someone had to invent something to work well with rounded edges of the fry pans like mine.
All in all I love this handy turner and it will sure be something I use time and time again and will need to purchase a few for my gift box, nice that these people after 160 years are still creating such wonderful products that are of such great quality. Though this lefty does wonder if this was made more for a right handed person, of course it was my first time using it and to be fair, it may take some experimentation to get used to using it. In the end I would recommend this turner, cause since I had thought no one had invented anything like this, I do think it’s ingenious… lol And lets face it, having quality tools in our kitchen makes cooking all the more fun and leaves us looking like we are all the better cooks… note I said “look” like, it certainly won’t help us be better cooks, but hey, what do you expect from a Kitchen Accessory?
Wait wait, I did expect more from my turner, I must admit that I really had expected Chef Gordon Ramsay to come with my turner and teach me some recipes, I admit that this gal is a big fan and… wait, I was cheated… what the???? I want Chef Ramsay here now! lol Ok I forgive Fissler for not packing up my favorite chef to come with my turner, I understand, there is just so much of him to go around, besides my kitchen is so small, we would have to be practically hugging eachother while cooking… wait, wait… that wouldn’t be bad would it? *wink*
Ok enough of my clowning around… here is the part you’ve all be waiting for while I rambled on. I suppose you would like to own your own Turner Comfort by Fissler? Ok, ok, here are the long awaited for rules:
