Riah here, I am so very excited to share this with you all my friends!
While looking through Etsy Shops I discovered some beautiful jewelry and I later met a lovely lady as a result. I would love to introduce you to her, her name is Natally and her shop is Silverstone.lt Jewelry. I am so glad that I stumbled upon her while looking around at peoples shops, this lady is a true artist with her jewelry and a lovely person.
I want you to get to know Natally a little so you will know some about the Artist behind the breathtakingly beautiful jewelry. I asked Natally for information about herself, where she’s from and so on here is her reply:
“My name is Natally. I was born in Europe, Lithuania country. This is a small country near Baltic sea. Lithuania is a beautiful country, here lives almost 3 millions peoples. I live in Lithuania capital – Vilnius, this is very green city, which has unique history, beautiful architectural heritage. Here lives many talented artists and interesting people. I love my country very much, so I could speak about it a lot of things. But there are more beautiful things which I like too. Of course jewelry first. :)”
I also asked Natally how she got started in her art of making Jewelry, here is her reply:
“I started create my jewelry when I was 10 years old and I still love it. Though my occupation is more relate with the international communications, I’m creating my jewelry with love and joy, as I have many ideas, which I’m expressing with colors, forms and feelings.”
“As I remember I was always interested in the arts. Since I was a child and it still continues now, when I have my own family. As my mother is an artist, everything I know about art, I learned from her. Since my first days in this world I grow up with arts.”
Natally is so rounded that she has such a variety of interests, no wonder she’s such a joy to talk to:
“I like many other things, to make gifts for people, to watch the sunrises, I like summer warm rains, I like animals and especially my cat:), I like to watch my little daughter playing with her toys. I like to paint, and photography also. I like flowers, and I like to write something lyrical – song, or verse. 5 years ago my first book was published. I also like to travel. And I like people, I enjoy watching how they are all different with their conventionalities, folklore and arts.”
“But jewelry creating is something magical for me, so I’m creating with all my love from all my heart.” ~Natally
Friends, I have to tell you all, her love from her heart really shows in your work! It’s obvious that she takes pride in her work and has a real gift with her lovely creations! I feel very lucky to have met this artist and talked to her at some length on Etsy and gotten to know her as a person and an artist! Her background is strong and a very familiar story to yours truly, as my parents too were artists and although I was born with clay under my nails and a paintbrush in my hand. *smile*
Now that you know some about the person behind the jewelry, you must know some about her jewelry, after all that is what I am here to do, to review her jewelry.
Red Coral Alice Necklace
Natally’s sent me a beautiful piece of jewelry, it’s a lovely Red Coral “Alice” Necklace, the metal on it is not cheap, it’s beautiful Brass, sturdy and stunningly antiqued. This necklace is so beautiful, just like all her jewerly… looking around her site you can tell that she loves the vintage styles! Vintage styles are so very popular right now!
Having worked in jewelry making a little as my Mother has been teaching me the art (so that it’s passed on), I am very impressed with Natally’s work! I examined my necklace and I have to say, I haven’t seen such perfection in handmade jewelry like she has in hers. Natally’s links in her necklaces are absolutely perfect! I even showed her necklace to my Mother who has been trying to perfect her links in her homemade jewelry my Mother was simply amazed and she, just like I, wish we lived closer to Natally, she could teach us a thing or two!
My necklace is a so breathtaking that I will admit that I cried when I received such a generous, beautiful piece of jewelry to review… I felt like my Victorian jewelry dreams all just came true! When I wear this necklace I receive complements and have to start carrying Natally’s information around with me as so many want to have one or something like it!
The necklace is comfortable to wear, not heavy, it’s smooth with no rough edges… absolutely the most glamorous and beautiful piece of jewelry I own. Thank you so much Natally, for entrusting me in doing a review of your jewelry and the lovely necklace that I shall treasure forever!
Please come on over and take a look at more of Natally’s work you can see her jewelry at these links and while your there, would you please leave a note and tell her that Riah from Joan & Riah’s Reviews sent you? Thank you!:

I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity work on review of Tommie Copper Compression Wear. I picked the compression shirt to help support my shoulders, I’ve been having a serious flare with the bursitis with the additional pain of Fibromyalgia in my shoulder.
I had noticed Tommie Copper on the Television with their Commercial with Montel Williams as their spokes person, with his MS it states that really has helped him with his pain. Well, I admit it, I thought the products sounded too good to be true. Yet I was intrigued and so happy when I along with my friend at Joan (who I worked with on my old blog Joan and Mariah’s Reviews) were invited to try out the Tommie Copper compression T-shirt in June 2011. Joan was fortunate enough to try many of their products and I received a choice of one product to try. Joan mentioned to the representative that I too have Chronic Pain issues, and so they were generous enough to throw in one shipment of a product for me to try too. I was tickled pink at the generosity at Tommie Copper for letting me participate in the review that was initially for Joan alone.
Tommie Copper was the brain child of a guy named Tommie Kallish, who had developed arthritis and tried many different kinds of support available. He did get some relief, however he did discover that these supports where not only thick but very uncomfortable to wear. So he tried many types of fabrics for support and through time he discovered the one that works best for him and that fabric is now being used in Tommie Copper Compression Wear.
Now we know where the Tommie part of the Company name came from, now how about the word Copper in the name? There is Copper in the compression/support wear. You many notice the Cu29 on their logo (the Cu is the elemental number of Copper and the atomic number for Copper is 29). I know from the past, when we tried copper bracelets at home for hubby and me, that copper is supposed to be a healing metal and at Tommie Copper they figured out an ingenious way of placing Copper in their products weave.
Sizing and Ordering my Product for the Review:
The person I wrote to about the Tommie Copper, helped me find the right size, I am large chested with small waist, this makes me person that is hard to fit, she took me down a size in the compression shirt for my waist and it works perfectly.
Receiving my Tommie Copper:
I received a nice silver toned bag with my Tommie Copper Top in it… I was amazed at how lightweight the mailing bag was.
Wearing the Compression Shirt:
I feel a nice compression with this shirt, I am currently wearing it under my sundress as I type, and it’s helping with my bad shoulder problem. I have a reoccurring case of bursitis in my shoulder, and, of course I recently placed it in a serious flare (be it my Fibromyalgia or my Bursitis) and I have had nothing but problems as I wait for an appointment with my Rheumatologist for steroid shot in my shoulder. This shirt has helped out my shoulder so much that I don’t think I will need the shot after all! 🙂 And I can’t forget to tell you that I have noticed that it does also help with some of the pain in my lower back and behind my shoulder blades.
Time for a little female secret while wearing this shirt, shhhhh…
Gals, does your chest get uncomfortable when it is close to that time of the month? Well with this shirt, it has a lovely V neck, and is stretchy enough that you can just take that neckline and move it over your chest and under your bra, so that you’re not wearing it over your chest at all. It didn’t stretch mine out and made it more comfortable for me during that “just before” time of the month. 🙂 Hey and it helps lift those “girls” up just a little too, hey I may be big chested but it does make you look slimmer that way too. Lol
Washing Tommie Copper:
Try to remember not use your fabric softener when washing your Tommie Copper items as the softening, in the fabric softeners, does not allow the Copper to properly work with your body, it sort of muffles the results you’d get. I one day washed mine in with other clothing and didn’t think about it, the compression still helped some but not as much as when I remembered not to use the fabric softener with it. Now I wash it, make a mental note to myself not to use fabric softener, and I remove the items from the washing machine and air dry them (using drier sheets for the remaining laundry in the dryer).
I love my shirt, it’s a soft fabric in a v-neck and lightweight enough that it isn’t hard to wear in the high temps outside today, note with the new house I don’t have AC so it’s very hot as we break records today, this holds in a little bit of the body heat, but that is a healing factor that I learned about while I was a dancer. And as I’ve done research on help for my Fibromyalgia, Lupus SLE I’ve read many reports on copper and the healing properties, as well as compression etc… many compression wear was too constraining to wear for any period of time, not with this shirt, I love the comfort, soft compression and not irritating fabric. The Tommie Copper Compression Shirt seems to breath with me, and let my skin still breath. And I love the sylish V-neck! I also love the non-slip band around the top so it doesn’t roll down and drive me nuts. A lot of thought went into these compression devices!
Added Note 2012: A year after writing this review on the old blog, I received their new compression Tights for women and reviewed them, you can see the review here.

http://www.clearlyfreshbags.com/ Have you ever heard of the Bags that are to extend the life of your produce? I’ve often wondered about these claims that something of another really work. But as stuborn as I am I still continued to buy my produce to either use within a day or two. And I’ve also I’ve canned food and made my own jams, jellies, pickles as well as dehydrated food and/or will steam or parbroil & vacuum pack to freeze to save my money and keep produce on hand. I just bought an old (new to me) house that is without Air Conditioning… and the heats been terrible, so storage of food outside the fridge has become a real problem as things go bad so very fast here.
I was overjoyed when I was contacted and asked to do a review for ClearlyFresh Bags. I am skeptical of claims of prolonging the shelf life of my produce without my usual attempts at making sure they last longer for my home and being the penny pincher I am, I’ve failed to try anything like this for myself, until now.
When my bags arrived at my home, I looked up their site online and read what produce the bags work with (see above picture from their website) and then I went out and purchase some bananas from the local grocer. Then gave my husband strict instructions that until my test was done, one of the bananas in the bag and one the ones outside were not to be touched. lol Hey he’s well trained by now and minded me so that I could snap a picture when the testing was done.
The bananas above are my home trial results.
Sure enough these bags work! And for the price of these bags, it’s well worth it! I even gave a few bags to my mother for her coleslaw that she wanted to grate up ahead of time for the huge family gatherings this past weekend and this week. The bags helped her save some last minute preperation and the coleslaw turned out beautifully even with it all grated up! I can say that my Mother and I will be using these bags for a long time to come, my husband loves the fact that his wife in chronic pain will not be forced through all the extra work from now on and it will give me time before I need to prep anything (and only if I feel like it) for storage and a prolonged shelf life. Amen to that!
Please do go and check them out, ClearlyFresh Bags do really work! Thank you to ClearlyFresh for letting me try out their bags.

I have to say that I have drank the Silk Soy Milk a lot in the past, but for a while now I have been getting milk from the local dairy delivered to our home and I hadn’t been shopping for my old favorite drink. I was contacted by Silk and asked to do their Silk for Milk 10-Day Challenge, I jumped at the chance to switch myself back. Little did I know that when I went to the store I would have so many choices to make, so many that my husband wondered off on me! Lol Ok, so for this one time I suddenly turned indecisive and bored the poor man. I saw everything from Silk light (which was something I hadn’t tried before) to Silk Almond which I too had not tried in the past. Well here is my chance as I go through the challenge I thought to myself. I will be one Silk light in Vanilla and one Silk Dark Chocolate Pure Almond to try out.
The first one I opened was the Silk Dark Chocolate Pure Almond, 50% more calcium per serving then milk was on the label. And I poured myself a glass of this chocolaty goodness, oh the taste is not too sweet and has a hint of Almond in the flavor. I passed the glass to the real chocolate milk drinker in the house, my husband and his eyes lite up… really! And I just cannot drink premade chocolate milk from ANYWHERE as it’s too sweet and even at 1 % milk I find it gunks up the back of my throat with way too much creaminess, as well as far to chocolatey. Yes you heard the chocolate lover here right, too chocolatey when it comes to store or dairy bought chocolate milk, so much so that if I want some I have to mix half that chocolate milk with regular 1% milk! Now the Silk Dark Chocolate Pure Almond is perfect for me, perfection! As a matter of fact I am drinking my coffee right now with this added to it for flavoring, so much better then milk.
The next thing I did was open up my Silk Light in Vanilla flavor, I love the lightness of the flavor of this Soy milk and the vanilla is an excellent touch, dare I say I think I like this more then the full flavor Silk Soy Milk? I do, and my husband who is a big time milk drinker, now claims he’s always likes Silk Soy Milk… yeah right, the wife really knows the truth. Lol This has sold him on Silk too, of course I didn’t mention to him that this was the light Silk and now he too is drinking Soy Milk as a result.
I love the vanilla flavor with some cookies, I drank some and found that anything with chocolate in the cookie is really highlighted with the vanilla in the Silk Light Soy Milk. Now catch this, I even snuck a little into our homemade ice-milk ice cream mix and he didn’t know the difference! Lol I love this on my cereal the vanilla adds a nice touch to the good for your cereals that don’t have much flavor, I have placed this in my smoothies and replaced milk in homemade bread with this as well! Amazing that I got away with introducing this into our foods without anyone being all the wiser to it. Of course it was noticeable in my cereal but that was the desirable affect.
These links (below) were supplied to me by Silk, so you can see the different ways of switching Silk into your diet:
Upon finishing my challenge I must say that I now once again prefer Silk to Milk anyday and with so many products now to choose from, I must say that I will not get bored too easily. I invite you my friends to give this challenge a try for yourself and see if you feel like I do about Silk as a replacement for milk. I must say that I know what the health benefits were always said to be in articles that I’ve read in the past and I feel great about making the change. I will still use milk from time to time, but I plan to always keep some Silk around for recipes and for chocolatey with a hint of almond goodness in my coffee and at other times when I want to be really really good on my diet I will keep the Silk Light Vanilla Soymilk for coffee too, believe me both are great in my morning coffee! If your like me you will enjoy this great start to your day and the additional flavoring to your coffee.
