Masking it up to Get Clean with Mud!

I had the privilege of trying out some wonderful face masks from Montagne Jeunesse from Neoteric Cosmetics inc. I chose to review 2 of the masks the Chocolate Masque and the Fruit Smoothie Mask. Mind you, you should only use a mask once a week on your face, so I had to wait a week between the two!
As I studied up on these products for my review, I learned some great things about them that I didn’t know. The products are filled with plant extracts, sea mineral, essential oils, fruits and flowers. Eco-Friendly and cruelty-free, all MJ products are approved by the British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection and the vegetarian Society. All this it makes these products all the more appealing and I couldn’t wait to test them and share the results with you.
I’ve seen these masks in the store for years now and I remember picking them up when I first saw the beautiful picture on the front, so yummy and so very creative the colorful graphics catch the eye. I picked one up on the shelf and being frugal as I am, I looked at the size of the envelope and wondered if indeed there was enough in it for one full facial involving the face and neck. And I set the product back down, and didn’t take a second look at it. Well, I didn’t take a second look at it, though every time I passed the masks I admit I looked again, and realized how the stock seemed to have more and more varieties of these masks.
I received my masks for the review in the mail and must say my doubts where totally unfounded, there is more then enough in the packets for a full mask on the neck and the face with plenty to spare. I must admit I folded up the ends of the masks that I’ve used and used my old stylists hair clip on them and plan to do a half and half facial, using some on my lower cheeks and different one on my t zone area! Shhhh… don’t tell. Wink
I have to say that the packaging makes it very easy to open… I had my scissors at the ready and didn’t need them… I knew darn well I wasn’t going to bite the package open, believe me I’ve done that a few times in the bath with shampoo packets and nothing like the taste of shampoo on your lips. The opening in the packets were both just perfect for getting a nice narrow stream out of the packet nice and neat! You then smell the lovely aroma of these products, the chocolate made me want to eat some and the smoothie made me think of exactly that smoothies… I am still craving smoothies as a result! Then the messy part begins as I spread it on my freshly washed (with warm water only) face… With the smoothie I could feel a little tingly sensation, the chocolate I didn’t feel as much of the tingly feeling. But I did have a little bit of sun on my skin just before trying the smoothie mask, as with both of them you could feel them tightening as they dried.
Speaking of drying, if you use these in the bathtub, like I did the day that I did yard work and I used the smoothie mask, expect the humidity in the bathroom to slow the drying process from the 10 to 15 minutes that it says to wait.
I love the chocolate, I must have gotten some in my nose because even after rinsing off well, hours later
I swear I could still smell the chocolate. The Mask left my skin smooth and clean feeling although a little tight, but my moisturizer seemed to soak in better then normal and improved the way the moisturizer worked on my skin. The fruit smoothie was wonderful for my skin, it not only felt clean, smooth and soft, but it didn’t feel overly tight even without my moisturizer.
These handy little packages have just the right price on them so I can now see stocking up on them for a nice variety in my weekly facial routine, and for in a guest bathroom. These would be a great idea for stocking stuffers for the gals on my Christmas list… or placed in a basket filled up with bathroom goodies and for a big gift place it in with some of their foot care and hair masks, as well as a nice washcloth & matching towel or two.
With the facts that I’ve learned about the Montagne Jeunesse line and the results, I will be picking up some more of the products for my home. There are 14 facial masks, 2 of which are peel off that I saw on the list and they have “Tonics”, hair care, masks for men and foot & leg care as well as the facial Masks (that now includes some nighttime masks). I recommend you give these products a try too, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Huephoria – Wine Glass Review & Giveaway!

Have you visited HuePhoria yet, well you should! They have everything from Ornaments to Wine Glasses, and party supplies all at very reasonable prices. For my review I received the Peace Wine Glass from them, and I have to say, right off the picture on their site does this glass no justice at all. The ball on the glass is sort of an medium olive green with a huephoria pink (pink just like their logo on their site) in the peace sign which is outlined in white. This is just beautifully hand painted, you can’t beat the quality of actual hand painted glassware! The stem of the glass is nice a smooth, not a cheap like some places that feels like it’d been poured into a mold and still has the rough edges of the seam on it. The reason for the smoothness of the glass is that these are all hand blown. The foot of this stemware has the words “Peace be with Hue” on it, which got a big laugh from me when I had seen that while drinking my glass of Merlot out of it. The container portion of the wine glass is more then ample at 16oz, it’s huge by my tastes and I love roomy wine glasses. Lol
There was no disappointment here when I received this glass, it’s just the perfect addition to my odd ball collection of wine glasses here. I and I can see buying a bunch of these. Why would I want a bunch? Well, I have the habit of visiting with friends and family and leaving my glass somewhere and I never know if that stray glass over there is mine or if it’s someone elses… I blame my mother for this as she does the same thing. The thought of charms to hang from our wine glass stems was a good idea, but who remembers to get them out when they are needed most? The idea of an identifying ball on your wine glass is so clever, whomever thought of this knew just what I needed. There are many varieties to choose from in their shop I counted 35 of them at this time and that would be more then enough for at my parents house, where our huge family gathers for most of the special occasions. I am thinking that all I’d need to do is suggest to my siblings that they pick out their wine glasses… and one for Mom and Dad, and that we compare notes for our next Christmas Celebration (shhhhh Mom, your not looking are you?) and we can each purchase one for ourselves and our spouse and then pitch in on the gift for Mom & Dad. Then we send them all in a box to Mom & Dad’s to make for their Christmas gift… lol… wouldn’t they be surprised to see us shuffling through their assortment so that we could use “our own” glass when we visit them? Lol
I would like to thank HuePhoria for the lovely wine glass and chance to do some product testing. I have to say the quality of these wine glasses truly justify the price, I have seen and almost bought glassware of this quality for 3 times of what they cost at HuePhoria! If your looking for great glassware remember you do get what you pay for and if you pay for cheap glassware, you get just that, cheap glassware. I really loved my glass and as for the product testing of it? What fun this was as it gave me an excuse to treat myself to a nice big glass of wine. Ok ok, so I could have seen about reviewing some wine too, ah well, too late.
Ok here you go folks thanks to their kind generousity HuePhoria is offering to sponsor a giveaway for one of our wonderful friends here! You can win one of their fantastic wine glasses for yourself.
